      I want to try some of these interventions like a carrot salad, but I'm not sure how to tell whether or not it's working.

      What am I paying attention to here?

        @Mendalin The carrot salad in particular is likely to increase bowel motility. But there's other things to take note of, like your temps before and after meals. Increase in temperature after meals means you're responding properly with a good metabolism. If your temps are higher before meals and drop after eating then it's a sign cortisol was keeping you thermogenic. And if you're serious about this you should probably keep a log. Because it would be ill advised to diagnose yourself off just one bad reading. An acute deviation from the norm can happen for a variety of reasons. For example, many people may notice a temp drop after their first meal of the day, because they went all night and didn't have enough stored glucose to efficiently keep cortisol down. What you need to do is establish patterns over many days.

          @Mulloch94 Ok temperature tracking seems like the place to start then. I'll log some numbers.

              @CO3

              Ok starting with https://dannyroddy.substack.com/p/bioenergetic-basics-7-where-to-start

              At 3m15s video cites the book "Hypothyroidism The unsuspected Illness"

              Broda Barnes Basal metabolic rate test:
              Measure underarm temperature up waking and in the afternoon.
              Test suggests temp should be 97.8F upon waking, and afternoon should
              rise to 98.6F.

              I like specific numbers, even if they're averages, caveats etc. Also appreciate the detail about meal temperature.
