I loved meat i used to eat KILOGRAMS every day, but randomly one day i stopped liking it and almost puked when seeing it, i hate the texture and the smell and taste and when i eat it i think of cows being brutally slaughtered. Am i autistic?

@peater Interesting! I feel I crave meat less now, and even less when i feel better. I do like having broth very often (see link in signature) but actual meat is kind of gross to me most of the time.

@peater Why have I suddenly lost my taste for nearly all meat when I used to love all kinds and now I can't stand the taste?

I'm finding the same recently for some reason. Cooking up some nice sorghum and potatoes recently. Might try leafy greens. More rooty vegetables.

Right cravings at this time of year... I've been preparing the garden and wondering what I can grow that won't ruin my metabolism

But do we? I think a healthy gut if you have that could make the B vitamins. After all B12 is made in soil...

Also read that 90 percent of B12 supplements fed worldwide are fed to cows? wtf? Our soil seems lacking. So then the food our food eats is lacking...

Thinking about it if you are speaking of bones maybe you need the cuts of meat that are like jelly, cows feet or cheeks? for collagen to make bones?

I think the major concern would be B12 deficiency, zinc deficiency, and maybe just not enough protein in general. If you can solve all of these you'd technically not need meat. I think the real issue is the number one protein source for meatless diets....legumes. Legumes can be uniquely destructive for many people's digestive systems. They also contain lots of phosphorous. So much so, that you're better off to just eat meat because even though meat is high in phosphate you'll reach your protein requirements much quicker with smaller amounts.

Consider doing a parasite cleanse since u prolly got them from eating fruit that aint properly washed

Get a hold on ivermectin for an effective cleanse, otherwise consider dry fasting for a couple of days

Kg of sorghum has 20mg of zinc. Now yes its in a plant but if we have it with orange juice that should up the absorption

If I can't always balance my meals with gelatin I think eating less protein is peaty. Grains have some protein. And didn't Dr Peat say plant protein has better amino acid profiles? Sorghum has decent protein. So do potatoes.

Interesting, I haven't really tried sorghum before. I remember reading someone claimed it increased DHT, so might be something worth looking into.

I think grains, especially if they've been soaked or sprouted, is probably way better than legumes. I think Peat was even eating oatmeal and oat bran about a year before his death. So clearly he believed there was some nutritional benefit to them.

Lower protein diets is something I've done before. I actually solved several issues doing it but I was also hypothyroid and not on thyroid replacement at the given time. In my own opinion, excessive gluconeogenesis is just as much an issue if not more of an issue than excessive lipolysis for hypo people.

Low protein diets will suppress gluconeogenesis, ACTH, and cortisol. So your liver glycogen will very likely get higher, which is good. In that respect, it probably is very "peaty." And one of Peat's last interviews with Danny, I think even he was chasing some sort of low-protein hypothesis. Not sure what it was because I don't recall a follow up to the topic.

Here's the thing, I quit doing it because I was concerned the weight loss I was experiencing was muscle mass. I can not say this for sure, because all I was using was scales at the time, and not watching my measurements with tape. I noticed I would get gassed more easily with squats and deadlifts too. So given all of this. it started to scare me enough to start upping my protein again.

It all worked out in the end though, because after I found a thyroid routine that worked for me I noticed I wouldn't get those dips into stress metabolism every 2-3 hours.

@peater Try shrimp, oysters, and scallops. I like those better than red meat

Losing insterest in red meat could mean you have too much iron or zinc or not enough copper, gelatin, and carbs.

@peater were you possibly bitten by a tick. A lot of people here in SW MO have gotten it and don't eat meat anymore as it makes them sick. I read of a possible cure last summer but can't remember for sure but i think it is ivermectin or some other parasite fighting protocol.
