It is pretty much the only thing that reliable elevated my mood, improves digestion, energy, pain in joints and cramped muscles.

Nicotinic acid does this! Not any other form of b3. The more popular niacinamide does nothing for me.

Any other people with positive experiences? Would it be purely from increased NAD production? Any additional co-factors that helped you? I tried tmg, but makes the effects less good I would say.

@Joop3000 Interesting, what doses do you take? I have heard of others doing well with niacin and not other forms.

@rpc I'm now doing this for around 2 months. Still looking around for right dosing and schedule. Currently taking 300mg before sleeping and 100mg with breakfast.

This is in line with Abram Hoffer's article from 1959. Spoiler - nicotinamide did not work nearly as well as niacin.

Not a user here, but wanted to soon start a nicotinic acid protocol, one bottle's worth. After reading some of @Amazoniac's previous research i think i'll begin with 50mg once a day. I'll then move it up to twice a day. Afterward it'll be 100mg in one dose, and later try 100mg twice a day.

Am looking to keep any flush reactions to a minimum, gauge how i feel after 6-8 weeks, then likely swap back to nicotinamide (niacinamide) afterward.

Nicotinic acid does something that niacinamide doesn't, it binds to the GPR109A receptor which stops intestinal inflammation, I've noticed that the flush also regulates serotonin when I feel I've got too much of it in my head.
