Diabetics often complain of being hungry all the time and eating constantly and they ofc have bad metabolism. While someone with high metabolism following peaty principles is also hungry all the time and eating constantly. How can this be the case?

@AndrewPeatMatrix difference is that one feels good when eating and the other barely survives because of wasting

Do they though? I don't think so, I have a healthy metabolism and I don't eat all the time. I ate more when I was hypothyroid because I couldn't go 3 hours without getting the shakes. Now I only eat 2,600 calories a day, and I'm 6'3-6'4 on top of that! On the old forum I know there was average sized people eating twice and thrice this amount of calories.

I think most people eating "peaty" have horrible metabolisms in my opinion. It's why they eat so many calories and get fat (then subsequently blame peating as the problem). I think part of this is because they've probably came from a low-carb background and have dysfunctional glucose oxidation, like most of us. But I also think some of it is from a fundamental misunderstanding about metabolism.

Healthy people won't need insanely large amounts of food just to get through the day. Even Ray himself said he started eating less after taking thyroid. It's not about amounts, it's about what you can do with what you have.

A better oxidative metabolism actually has a slower burn of glucose while a more reduced glycolytic metabolism wastes glucose quicker. I used to crash between meals and feel that stress often. Or have intense cravings. After many years of pro metabolic eating and now taking thyroid I generally feel more stable between meals and rarely feel that hypoglycemic stress unless I workout hard and then skip a meal
