Progesterone for a 54 year old woman?

Never have had progesterone, menopause started at 39, and doctor prescribed progesterone today 15 years later.
Is it safe to start the progesterone now after 15 years?
I hav read it isn’t safe after this long between menopause and starting progesterone.

@JTOATJOWHLOR it's very safe, one of the safest things you can take. There's no known level of toxicity or overdose.
VERY important to verify that is it actually bio-identical progesterone. And not a synthetic progestin.
