Cortisone Injection
-
I have a muscle spasm/shoulder injury from repetitive work. It’s a tightness in my right shoulder right below my trap. Sometimes the pain radiates up my neck. My doctor has given me some stretches to do and strengthening exercises since he believes it’s due to a strength imbalance pulling everything to one side. They aren’t working very well.
His other recommendation was the cortisone shot into the muscle or joint. But I’ve read that this can be very bad and even dissolve cartilage.
Any recommendations? Would topical progesterone on the area maybe help?

You could try topical essential oils, dissolved in coconut oil. Oils like wintergreen and peppermint will be quite powerful. Lavender and clove could also be useful. Granted there will be an associated smell with this approach!
