What is exactly the difference between Cynomel and Cytomel?

I would like to know because I can't see it according to the ingredients. One is Pfizer and the other Sanofi. One is extracted from animals and the other synthetically from iodine.
That's what I can find. I don't know why there's a preference for cynomel with Peaters.
