How to take temps

I have a temp reader that scans the forehead is that accurate what should I be using to measure my temps and where do I measure?
My armpit? My forehead? -

@GreekDemiGod In Celsius I get around 97- low 98 temps sometimes my temps go as low as 96 though. I just want to know how , and with what I should be measuring. Im not sure how bad my thyroid is I do sort of have no lunulae and my nails are pink/purple. I also get cold after meals.
