advantages and disadvantages of training

I know that all forms of exercise produce stress response, but RP has said that more muscular mass in the body produces more androgens as opposed to stress in response to general stimulus. thus I wonder if it's worth it to start doing some dips and chin-ups or not?
-
@patriarch you can make progress doing one working set per exercise per week. That's all it takes, so there's really no reason to do more unless its your life purpose to train for a particular activity that requires more.
-
@gloryus so one set of dips or chin-ups to failure per week would suffice?
-
@patriarch yes. you should do a couple easy warm up sets to get blood flowing into the muscle. But yeah a single working set. Once 12 reps become easy you can slowly add a pound every week to a weight belt. In a couple years you could be doing 100 pounds added.
Slow and steady wins the race. Gym rat routines with 5 workouts a week with lots of volume are really unnecessary if your goals is just slowly building muscle mass and strength and in most cases counter productive.
