I have myopia (short-sightedness) with -2 diopters per eye and have been wearing glasses for about 10 years. Im 26 btw.

Recently I have been thinking about having an laser eye operation so that I can stop wearing glasses. What do you think about it, do you think it is safe?

    Would appreciate any opinion.

    Thanks.

@milkgains_bro Hello, I would not yet get laser eye surgery before exhausting all natural options; I seem to remember that Peat said that laser eye surgery increases the dysfunctional state of the eye. Take a look at these resources on naturally reversing myopia: https://www.losetheglasses.org/ ; endmyopia.org . I had a very mild myopia that I managed to reverse using the principles on the website.

      Cheers!

I have heard that the rate of complications is actually higher than the industry would lead you to believe. Saw a twitter thread some time back from a guy who claims lasik made him go almost completely blind years after getting it. Also there is a supposedly a potential side effect of permanent eye pain likened to being constantly stabbed with knives. While serious complications are probably rare I wouldn't take that risk at any percentage. Just wear glasses most of the time and get contacts for when you want to look extra good. I have heard applying egg whites to the eyes can cure myopia slowly over time. I began doing this early last year but stopped just to be safe once all the bird flu hysteria started.

@milkgains_bro my glasses are like -4.25 yet my vision becomes perfect in Summer out at the forest and lakes. Like I can literally see birds and details on trees really far away. I imagine when I go skiing and stuff even in Winter it will be fine, I just haven't gone out to the mountains in Winter since I stopped wearing contact lenses.

only when indoors doing a lot of reading that I feel the need for glasses (not that im particularly just near or far sighted, it's equal in both) and the more I wear them the more I need them. I think vision for the most part is correctable. I would try getting slightly progressively weaker lenses to train your eyes to get stronger and maybe shine some red light in your eyes. maybe retinol-maxxing too

maybe those contact lenses you wear at night that mold your eye shape temporarily are good some how , despite the lowered oxygen part. id look into those before laser eye surgery
