How To Help Lower Cholesterol? (310 TC)
-
Maybe I already know the answer to this, but is there a healthy way to lower cholesterol?
From my understanding, endotoxin, poor thyroid/metabolism can increase Cholesterol.
I've been on thyroid for about 14months (which should help lower TC) and have had gut issues ever since my twins were born (gut issues caused from sleep deprivation) as well as gaining 60lbs since 2020 (mostly fat maybe 5lbs of muscle, I'm very strong/muscular but hidden from chubbiness). I had to take Cascara Sagrada for 1 whole year straight or else I couldnt poo, but I have been off of it for 2months and am able to go, but the stools are very loose in the AM and dry in the PM. I am dieting and aiming to get back to my OG weight and lose this 60lbs, maybe that's the answer to lower my cholesterol? My macros are usually ~300-400g C, ~160 P, ~30-55 F. (This is also my first ever blood test so nothing else to reference, I had also been drinking lots of wine leading up to the test, probably 1 bottle of wine a day for a month) (idk if relevant, but my mom and grandpa also had high cholesterol)Supplements: ~3grains thyroid, pansterone, androsterone, k2, d3, aspirin, tocovit, mag, 4-5g calcium total.

- No, for endotoxin. Yes, for low thyroid metabolism.
I'd take care of liver fat to optimize the situation.
There is a problem of metabolizing fat if loose stools with mucus. Fat digestion?
Get inform on MMC (interprandial transit). Cascara should only be used as occasional means.
Note1: 160 P
Too high if > 30 / 35 g P per meal. Need enzymes. Otherwise, not assimilated.
Note2: When drinking wine, the liver stops processing other functions. Priority to ethanol evacuation.
Note 3: No need for Ca above 1200 mg. If mainly from milk, it could induce an immune reaction.

@LucH I forgot to mention, the protein and calcium is mostly from skim milk, which is why both values may seem high, my diet is essentially 2-3L of skim milk and some low fat yogurt from morning on, and dinner is a regular balanced meal with most of the fats being at dinner.
