      I’ve been dealing with this for a while now… I did an organic acid test, showed glutathione depletion, high oxidative stress. I’ve taken glycine, glutamine, cysteine… and pretty much a host of other nutrients (unnecessary) but to no avail. Nothing works. I know that I have some heavy metal toxicity issue. But either way, I don’t know what to take. I have weird test results, like low AST and ALT. It’s all so bizarre

        Hi,
        If there is HM toxicity with Hg, nothing won't function since the enzmatic pathway for détox is blocked.
        Useful info (Dr. Klinghardt)

        • Mercury affects the functioning of enzymes. Enzymes are the catalysts for chemical reactions. We have two main classes of enzymes: digestive enzymes and metabolic enzymes. Metabolic enzymes are responsible for the maintenance and function of every cell in our body. There's no life without enzymes!
        • For example, mercury can block the enzyme glutathione S-transferase, which is essential in the detoxification process.

          last time I checked, my antimony was quite high

            my antimony was quite high

            In the case of antimony, the following chelating agents could be used, but when very well informed to avoid an overload of the liver and to manage side-effects.
            DMSA (dimercaptosuccinic acid)
            DMPS (2,3-dimercapto-1-propanesulfonic acid)
            Animal experiments have demonstrated improved survival when chelating antimony with dimercaprol, succimer, and dimercaptopropanesulfonic acid (DMPS). The most effective treatments are succimer and DMPS. September 2, 2024

            DMPS
            Its sulfur atoms will create specific bonds with the positive ions of the metals. Thus firmly attached to DMSA, the metals will be naturally eliminated in the urine (but not only, editor's note).

            NB: The metabolism of antimony's mineral compounds is accomplished through glutathione, which primarily results in biliary elimination. Optimizing bile flow should also be monitored (betaine HCL 1x/day).
            There are still unknowns in the management of antimony detoxification, which is less studied than arsenic, of which it is a close relative (on the metal scale).

            NB: Follow-up required for the emunctories, with breaks / staples: blood tests for creatinine, transaminases (ALAT, ASAT) and gamma glutamyl-transpeptidases (GGT).

              is this the only way to fix my hypothyroidism? Couldn’t I be deficient in some mysterious nutrient

                We have to occupy the place in the presence of heavy metals.
                Heavy metals & antagonistic trace elements:
                Cadmium --> Zinc
                Lead --> Calcium, Molybdenum, Sulfur
                Aluminum --> Magnesium, Calcium, Phosphorus, Fluorine
                Mercury --> Sulfur + Selenium
                Arsenic --> Selenium
                Fluorine, chlorine, bromine --> I (+ Se) (for thyroid).

                Antimony (Sb) is a close brother of arsenic (As), classified in group 15 of the periodic table. Nitrogen family.
                Sb stands for "stibium", derived from a Latin word.
                Antimony is a metalloid, meaning it exhibits properties of both metals and nonmetals.

                What could help is to occupy the place.
                A dislodger of the possible squatter(s) on the thyroid gland (thanks to Se and I).
                => What helps to eliminate heavy metals.
                Glutathione peroxidase (GPx) has this ability for a good amount of Heavy metals (HM). Selenium and glutathione are needed for GPx. A thiol group has this ability (double-pronged forceps), as in garlic and broccoli.
                Be careful not to go about it haphazardly. You need tweezers (thiol molecules) and avoid opening the brain barrier. No ALA (alpha lipoic acid) at the beginning of the process. Too soon and too strong (brain).
                NB: Glutathione (GSH), containing a thiol group, plays a crucial role in detoxification, particularly in the liver, where it neutralizes toxins and aids in the elimination of metabolites. Need a special form if used as a means. Selenium is a precursor.
                See Cutler protocol for suggestion for other anti-oxidants when detoxifying HM.
                I repeat: Never detoxifying for a too long period (4-6 wk.), change the molecule, make staples with pause to reload energy and useful nutrients brought away by chelation.
