Licorice root/liquorice/glyzirhin causing Menstrual-like bleeding post menopause?
-
My MIL is 60, post menopausal, eats basically the antithesis of peat, lots of raw veggies and veggie smoothies, no sugar etc, and developed a chronic dry cough that has lasted for months. She decided to have lots of teas which contain licorice root, I think she said about 500mg/Serving and she'd have at least 3 a day for months. She recently had spotting and then what appears to be a period, heavy bleeding for a few days. Im assuming this is due to estrogen and aldostetone, but wondering what can help and how this causes break thru bleeding/possible menstrual cycle.

@Turk I think licorice can be estrogenic and best to avoid it.
