You are a literal saboteur of your own forum.

That's pretty bold chap, I'm just talking.

IRL you might walk off or profess so the other could adjust. If you walk off it's a kind of block so you ought to be able to do that. I didn't know you couldn't until someone pointed it out.

That's also very bold, even to imagine an attribution like that.

I highly recommend you do. And be very careful in doing so.

How would you blocking me amount to that? Exactly.

Your attempt to imply what I'm 'excited' by on these grounds is sick. In my opinion.

Thus far you're the only one throwing the word 'troll' around hn.

He may not even knows he's trolling. He might just be naturally irritating. Is a very rare accidental troll living in this forum? (I'm whispering right now like I'm on safari 🤠 )

But the interesting question is can you troll if you don't know it? You would just say that person struggles with an issue. Trolling requires intent right?

I know nobody's gonna read this. I'm just entertaining myself. I'm looking over this and going is this mean? Am I being mean right now?

Of course it just tells people to block the account and it's fine anyway.

I'm still finding this interesting only because I am fascinated with characters and it looks like the term "accidental troll" which is the term I made, is not the more known terms.

                                  List from my research:

Unintentional troll: Posts provocative or inflammatory comments without intending harm or disruption, unaware of the negative impact.
Concern troll: Pretends to be supportive or concerned but stirs controversy; sometimes unaware they are trolling.
Naive troll: Unknowingly provokes or annoys others due to lack of awareness or social cues.
Ignorant troll: Trolls out of misunderstanding or misinformation, not realizing their behavior is disruptive.

I'm thinking you don't find them very often because most forums have ban policies so they'll aggregate in places like this. Add in that it's anonymous and they can just really let loose.

You forgot mountain trolls. They looked pretty dangerous in Lord of the Rings.

I've never been a big party attender, but I never went to a party where I didn't probably offend most of the people there by talking about what I was interested in. (Ray Peat)

There's a picture of one on my desk 😠

This provides a great example on the topic. Poor Luke, not realizing that everyone posting here is a LOTR enthusiast has insulted me causing me distress. That would make him a "ignorant troll" based on the list.

He means well but he knows not. How upset can you get at him when he's trying his best?

                                      I forgive you Luke 🙂

Here is a condense AI description of the psychology of a forum troll. However this may not apply to Luke because he didn't realize that I just watched LOTR for the 90th time this morning. Luke would go to church and ask people if they believe in God. Poor guy, he's struggling😢

A forum troll is typically characterized by a need for attention and control, often driven by insecurity or boredom. They exhibit low empathy, deriving amusement from provoking emotional reactions (schadenfreude). Trolls may have narcissistic or antisocial traits, enjoying manipulation and disruption for its own sake. They often hide behind anonymity to avoid accountability, allowing them to express suppressed impulses or unresolved anger. Cognitive biases like confirmation bias or a sense of superiority can fuel their behavior, as they seek to affirm their worldview or feel powerful. Environmentally, they thrive in spaces with minimal moderation or high reactivity, exploiting group dynamics to amplify conflict.

Poor Luke (who honestly seems like a descent guy, I'm just having little fun) is most likely going to fit this profile that an AI created:

An unintentional forum troll, often unaware of their impact, typically lacks social awareness or emotional intelligence rather than malice. They may exhibit impulsivity, posting inflammatory or off-topic content without recognizing how it derails discussions. Such individuals might have poor communication skills, misinterpreting cues or overestimating their humor or insight. Unlike intentional trolls, they don’t seek to provoke for amusement but may do so through stubbornness, overzealousness, or a need for validation. They could be driven by a desire to belong or contribute but misjudge tone or context. Anonymity might amplify their behavior, but it’s less about exploiting it for power and more about obliviousness to social norms. They thrive in chaotic or loosely moderated spaces where their missteps go unchecked.

Despite my biblical name I do that rather seldom.

By the way, good that you are here and not next door in Charlie's private loony bin. People have been banned there for writing God with a lowercase g.

But I don't fit any of the four troll definitions from your post above. I'm always aware when I troll and do it just for fun or because I'm a cynical bastard.
