20mg of boron each day?
-
Hi everyone, I've been Peating for a little bit and there is something I just can't find any more info on.
I take boron as a way to efficiently reduce SHBG and also as a hedge against joint issues. Right now I take one 10mg capsule every day but I have seen reports of 3mg having effects and others taking 6mg and 9mg and 12mg, and almost nothing above that. So, I was wondering if there could be any benefit from bumping up my boron to 20mg/d.
For:
- Looks like those using borax as the boron source are regularly taking in 20mg+ and not seeing any issues?
- If the curve for boron absorption looks logarithmic (lots of benefits at first but then plateaus) then 20mg would theoretically bring me a little bit more benefits
- Foods like nuts (I know I know, not Peaty) regularly contain multiple mgs but nobody's specifically eating nuts for the boron content, maybe it's not enough or the measured values are outdated?
Against:
- Would use up my boron supplement faster
-
No
Don’t bump upIn fact
Why taking isolated?
Food first
And if taking a singular vitamin or mineral
You should take judiciously and therapeutically for a very limited timeTaking something in such a dose -unnaturally -sets you up to throw yourself out of balance
-
@Peatful I don't take boron alone, I combine it with all my other vitamins and I HAVE to take all of them with food or else I have mad stomach issues (speaking from experience).
-
pretty sure raisins are a good way to get a lot of boron

@sunsunsun Extracting daily minerals from the acidified, atrophied testicles of homosexuals should be illigal and you should be lynched on sight. Just buy a 2 euro per 100 daily doses supplement online and don't overthink it
-
@sunsunsun it was shown to also lower estrogen in some models, 3 mg a day was also shown to improve brain capabilities through something somethijg brainwaves
-
@lobotomize this is the issue I was having, the trend seems to be lower SHBG -> /\ free T -> /\ estrogen but the data is just lacking due to low interest
