Is anyone concerned about the reported nanoparticle technology RayPeat talked about with Jodelle? He said he had not used or recommended milk powder anymore, as he could not get confirmation that the milk powder was not coated with nanoparticles, which he said were cancerous and inflammatory.
-
@Sunniva It might be problematic, but I only use milk powder a couple times per week at most. I only concern myself with avoiding the usual suspects (PUFA, fortified iron, phosphates, carrageenan, gums, & citric acid). You do that and you've already eliminated the vast majority of issues that most people don't even know about (except for the PUFA thing which has gained popularity in the past 10 years.)

I would argue the PUFA thing is more of an environmental issue anyways. Meaning you can never completely get rid of it. It's like heavy metals, and other pollutants that slowly accumulate over time. Best defense we have is to take vitamin E and focus on optimizing glucose oxidation to keep the fats stored.
Whereas something like carrageenan, or gums, can be completely removed from the diet which would have nothing but positive effects. They're arguably worse than PUFA, and contribute to bacterial endotoxin and diabetes (2022 RCT confirmed this for carrageenan).

IDK if this applies to Europe. I know they are not banned here. I would love some confirmation on it. I've been eating them daily and do notice my urine has become overly alkaline lol? I wonder if the nanoparticles can cause that. But for now I chill and eat them

@Mulloch94 dude shut up. If it's your world to be called a pussy for no reason and think that's ok because you need to kiss up this Incel, then that's on you. I'm not following your mental gymnastics. Grow a pair.
-
@Solrig No gymnastics, just thought I'd give you some brotherly advice about not being hypersensitive to what some keyboard warrior thinks about you, lol.

@Sunniva
Personally I havent found anything notable about this.

@CO3 I would love to try them for breakfast or lunch. Looks delicious. Is there a way to do them without the eggs?
-
@Loulou I have tried! You will be hard-pressed to achieve a solid pancake. The only thing I haven't tried is using only egg whites if the idea is to avoid the fat from eggs. This occurs to me as I'm writing this comment... Will try.
I have done it entirely without the eggs, added quite a bit of honey and flavoring, and melted coconut oil inside the dough and achieved a sort of mashed potato-like mass that was surprisingly delicious.
I have totally replaced my egg meals with these so I haven't often found myself experimenting with the recipe in that way, only when I was out of eggs.
-
@CO3 : ok thanks. I tend to have eggs most of days for my breakfast with orange juice. I always removed the whites as Ray said they are not that great and I try to limit my methionine intake.
I wanted to try these for lunch, but I can try during the weekend. Once a week should be fine.
