Good choice for controlling / balancing high level of homocysteine. However …
Excerpt 1:
Under normal circumstances, the body itself can maintain the level of homocysteine at a suitable level. This requires several nutrients, such as folic acid (B9 folate), vitamin B12, vitamin B6, trimethylglycine (TMG 2 x 500 mg), serine and glycine.
https://therapeutesmagazine.com/methionine-et-glycine-nefaste-de-manger-de-viande/When taking B1 on the long term, B2 (riboflavin) is needed.
There is interaction between B1 B2 B3 B8 B5 and magnesium in Krebs cycle.
With high dose B1 we use / we exhaust riboflavin needed for homeostasis. Riboflavin insufficiency may exert some of its effects by reducing the metabolism of other B vitamins, including folate and vitamin B-6. No need to take it every day.
Excerpt 2
Riboflavin (vitamin B2) is the precursor of FAD, the cofactor of methyl tetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR enzyme). MTHFR catalyzes the formation of 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate, which acts as a methyl donor for homocysteine remethylation.
Excerpt 3
Homocysteine is a metabolite of methionine, and once formed, it can be metabolized by trans-sulfuration through a vitamin B6-dependent pathway or by remethylated methionine in a folate- and vitamin B12-dependent reaction. Genetic abnormalities or inadequate supply of these vitamin cofactors can increase plasma total homocysteine (tHcy) concentrations.

OP, I admire your effort, but if may opine, I would like to suggest a different approach. Reading Ray and picking his brain from reading his writings is a lot better than picking the brains of our collective here, most of whom are just as likely to give his own opinion than facts, and most are just as unversed in his writings and ideas. I'm sorry if I assume as much, but it may help all of us if we really make a serious effort to read his newsletters and books with the aim to understand and internalize them. In addition to using some good resources from members here.
Thanks for the answer. That's a good point.
Where would you suggest to start? I barely even read his articles. I mostly read the forum, and listened to GE streams or other interviews or radio shows with Ray.It is easy to be overwhelmed as there is no syllabus or course design that we are used to in universities. Since our ailments cannot wait for each of us to attain a mastery of Peatology, it is far easier though hardly ideal to use our own individual health and sickness to guide our search for what material to read. Otherwise, it's hard to get enough motivated to read each newsletter as if you were pursuing a PhD.
Use a keyword search of his writings, as I described earlier to bring up his writings on that subject, and focus on that subject. Since the body is interrelated, it would still be hard to be lost, as even if you tried to specialize on an area, you can't help but avoid being drawn into the larger web of relationships that make the body work coherently and cohesively.
It would be a matter of time and a matter of course that you will find yourself connecting the dots, and form conceptual relationships, particularly on causes and effects, whiçh is the backbone of problem solving.

I now seem to tolerate milk much better, which is fantastic. Before I could feel it giving me brain fog, dandruff/ dermatitis, but recently I started drinking milk again: goat milk and non-homogenized cow's milk and I feel pretty good from it.
I also realized how much the quality of the thyroid product matters. Before I was using Levotiron for T4, now I use Novothyral (100mcg T4 and 20 mcg T3 per pill), and I started feeling better in days.
Novothyral is so far the best thyroid product I could get my hands on (in Europe).

L-Glutamine taken in the morning on an empty stomach, combined with plenty of hydration (mineral water, salt) is improving the quality/ consistency/ size of my bowel movements a lot.
It’s only the second day of taking it, but signs seem very promising.I was already quite regular, but the stool shape was bad and had incomplete evacuation. With the Glutamine, it’s much better.

Fine. I'd add some glycine / bone broth / collagen to avoid / dampen the way to glutamate.

4 days in taking a high potency (450 billion) probiotic, and my stool shape and color has massively improved. From thin, fragmented, incomplete, yellow/ orange stool, to well-formed, easy to pass, brown coloured stool.
These are very promising early signs.
This might finally be the thing that fixes my digestive issues.Also, I realised that Cascara Sagrada, or any other herbal mild laxatives, do not come without side effects. Because they accelerate the transit time too much, leasing to food passing too quickly through the digestive tract. This increases the risk of un digested food in stool, and yellow/ orange stool due to forces digestion.
You don’t want to force or mess with transit time. You want to optimise micro biome and metabolism, so that transit time regulates itself.
Magnesium Oxide is much better than Cascara and superior. I’m surprised Peaters promote Cascara so much.

As long you keep going to poop twice a day. If problem get informed on MMC (postprandial move). 30 gr (1 oz.) fiber: two kinds (soluble and insoluble).

Ya, but HD vit C is still much better if you have to repeat it.
Mind the kind you choose: Scottish one is fine, if you want to avoid HM and fake one (50 % bioavailable and 50 % rubbish since not functional). -
Ok, it feels like my gut is going through some monumental, massively positive shifts, and it’s only been 4 days taking these probiotics.
My dysbiosis must have been really bad.This feels like life changing shifts taking place in my gut within a matter of days. I am amazed.
I had 8 bowel movements today, all well formed, brown in color, smaller in size. This is a really great sign. I am now at bedtime sitting excited in bed, I can feel increased digestive activity even at this time of the day. It feels like my gut is back to life.
From Chat GPT:
That ramped-up digestive activity at night is another clue that your gut is in the middle of some serious restructuring — and that VSL#3 is probably hitting its mark
This nighttime activity could be:
1. Increased microbial fermentation — VSL#3 has some heavy-hitter strains (like Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, and Streptococcus thermophilus) that may be repopulating territory and fermenting undigested carbs or fibers more efficiently, especially now that your gut terrain is changing.
2. Enhanced peristalsis — Your gut may be regaining normal motility patterns after being sluggish or imbalanced for so long. That could feel like bloating, churning, or even “nervous” gut energy, especially at night when the parasympathetic nervous system dominates.
3. Die-off byproducts — As harmful microbes are displaced, endotoxins and metabolites are released. Your body might be working overtime to process those, including at night. -
@GreekDemiGod which probiotic, sir?

@eduardo-crispino VSL #3.

@GreekDemiGod thx

I am currently working with a gastroenterologist and she had me run various stool and parasite tests. Results are starting to come in and I tested positive for Giardia parasite, and it’s likely a chronic infection, not a recent one. This might be the root cause or one of the root causes of my dysbiosis and SIBO.
I am happy to be able to have finally pinpoint the root causes, and will likely follow her treatment.Wish I had done extensive tests sooner, I wasted years.

Lactobacillus casei and, Lactobacillus bulgaricus (Lactobacillus in yoghurt) produced a 100% reduction in G. lamblia cyst shedding, curcumin produced an 87.80% reduction in number of cysts, and metronidazole produced a 78.4% reduction in number of cysts.

ChatGPT gave me;
Key Characteristics of L. casei DN-114001:
Survives GI transit:It resists stomach acid and bile, which allows it to reach the intestines alive and in significant numbers—unlike many other strains that die off before they get there.
Immunomodulatory effects:
Clinical trials have shown this strain can stimulate the immune system, particularly:
Enhancing natural killer (NK) cell activity
Modulating cytokine production
Increasing IgA production (important for mucosal immunity)
Reduces incidence of infections:
Studies have shown a reduction in the duration and severity of common infections, especially respiratory tract infections in children and the elderly.
One study found it helped reduce the frequency of diarrhea in hospitalized children.
Clinically tested in humans:
Unlike many commercial probiotics, DN-114001 has been tested in double-blind, placebo-controlled human studies, which gives it a higher standard of scientific credibility.
Often combined with S. thermophilus and L. bulgaricus:
It’s usually delivered in a fermented dairy base alongside traditional yogurt cultures, which may enhance its effects through symbiotic synergy.
Hope you het better
