Proline restores mitochondrial function and reverses aging hallmarks in senescent cells
-
Senescent cells exhibit diminished proline biosynthesis and benefit from proline supplementation. Proline promotes mitophagy by activating AMPKa and upregulating Parkin, improving mitochondrial function, and ameliorating aging hallmarks. Parkin is necessary to mediate the effects of proline and reverse aging hallmarks, but it is not sufficient.

Does proline act most beneficial on an empty stomach or as part of a food?
-
@Johann2547 - I do not know. Perhaps, in an empty stomach it would have no competition.

@DavidPS how similar is proline to glycine??
I find glycine makes me sleepy
is this a better alternative?
-
@wester130 - I do not know. I get my proline from my diet.
-
@DavidPS it also solves heart disease in the Linus Pauling protocol
it's an interesting substance
