Removing IL-11 extends life by over 20%

Deleting the IL-11 gene in mice increases life span by over 20% .
Once again, showing that inflammation is at the root of aging. Not just aging, but disease in general ,since the mice were a lot healthier in many other ways, too.https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2024/07/240717120907.htm

Thanks for the heads up on IL-11. It seems that it not only extends lifespan by almost 25% but it also extends healthspan. There are anumber of ways to increase lifespan by 10% but 25% is much less common.

IL-11 inhibition is similar in effect to rapamycin (Sirolimus).

Thanks I was looking for something that can reduce IL11 . So rapamycins anti-aging effects might not (only) be due to the mTOR inhibition.
25% is good which is similar to ergothioneine, but it is still far from the 40% that methionine and cysteine restriction produced.

5 Supplements To Inhibit IL-11 (animal studies)

Thx Richard for this interesting presentation.Actually it's not necessarily the curcumin but the other ingredients in turmeric that are responsible for the inhibition of IL-11.
So the whole food is always more potent than any supplement. By the way piperlongumine also inhibits IL-11. I take them every day in my coffee and in meals combined with olive oil ,black pepper and ginger.
