Spain to revoke driver’s licenses of hypothyroid citizens in 2025
-
If you are a Spanish citizen and you are hypothyroid, depressed, or have ADHD, you won’t be allowed to obtain or renew a driver’s license. Starting from 2025, a medical examination will be one of the mandatory requirements to obtain a driver’s license.
The DGT (Directorate-General for Traffic) recently provided a summary list of 35 conditions that limit or prevent the issuance/renewal of a driver's license. These are:
- Transient ischemic attack.
- Alzheimer's disease.
- Large vessel aneurysm.
- Sleep apnea.
- Arrhythmias.
- Seizures or loss of consciousness.
- Dementia or anxiety disorder.
- Depression.
- Automatic defibrillator.
- Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.
- Oncological diseases.
- Heart diseases.
- Degenerative, neurological, and chronic diseases.
- Digestive diseases.
- Dissection.
- Endocrine diseases.
- Neurological diseases.
- Oncological diseases.
- Respiratory diseases.
- Epilepsy.
- Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
- Hypothyroidism and parathyroid disorders.
- Acute myocardial infarction.
- Pacemaker.
- Nephropathy with dialysis.
- Parkinson's disease.
- Vascular problems.
- Valve prostheses.
- Kidney transplant.
- Personality disorder.
- Intellectual development disorder.
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder.
- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
- Sleep disorders.
- Oncohematological disorders.
The goal is to make roads more safe, promote the use of public transport and reduce CO2 emissions.

Thank you for this
Are you a resident?
How is this being received?
Will there be resistance? -
They should add IQ tests if they’re serious
-
@oliveoil so that's everyone then!

If you accept that this is reasonable, I suspect that they will just expand this list so that it can be used as a form of coercion. For example, your license will be revoked if your do not comply with health mandated vaccine schedule. This could be the basis of a slippery slope.
