mononitrate B1 vs HCL?
-
I've been mega dosing b1 mononitrate at 1,500mg a day for about a week now for mild b1 deficiency. I've noticed my energy improved but I read that nitrate is toxic. Does anyone know any more on the specific subject, i searched online and couldn't find much on mononitrate other than it's a cheaper version of HCL?

Nitrate is not toxic as long it doesn't change into nitrite, provided your liver can handle with excess nitrate (overloaded).
So don't mix these elements:- acidity (lemon juice)
- lipid + nitrate (smoked salmon)
By the way 1.5 mg is not mega dosing.
We talk about mega pharmacological dosing round 100 mg B1 HCl.
PS1: take under 90 mg is not advised. or RDA or > 90 mg. Otherwise growth cell stimulus, if prolonged use. Not concerned if in cure 2 or 3 week.
PS2: Need for B2 if longer than 2 weeks with high level B1.
There is interaction between B1 - 2 - 3 and B8 (+ Mg) when optimizing carburation.

should i continue with the mononitrate or purchase the HCL
I won't do so.
Keep 500 mononitrate HCL for later. You need to be accustomed with 100 - 250 ml HCL before reaching 500 mg. Brain or thyroid effect possible.
You could cut your gel in 2 pieces and mix the powder with food. With staples 10-15 days. See how you react before reaching 500 mg B1 HCL.
Then you'll need to change for another kind of B1 if you want passive transport.
You'll need a potassium supplement too. Not in softgel but in powder (too weak). 1.5 g K citrate.

=> Pharmacological dosage for thiamine (target high dosage with staples)
