Is this good or bad for sleep, different opinions everywhere. Anyone got a definitive answer for consuming it mixed with milk and honey an hour before bed

There is no definitive answer. The reason people have different opinions about it is because they had different experiences with it. Cocoa contains theobromine which can be stimulating for some people, it also has some caffeine. So for some people it can indeed cause insomnia or bad sleep.

But is also has a relaxing effect which may help other people get to sleep easier. I personally stay away from dark chocolate before sleep because it tends too cause some sleeplessness for me, although my sleep is a mess anyway. For example, Glycine and magnesium before bed cause insomnia for me, for most people it does the exact opposite.

Conclusion: You have to try it yourself. I fit gives you insomnia, one night of insomnia won't kill you. If it does, the milk plus honey without the cocoa powder is still a good snack before sleep.

I've never been a big party attender, but I never went to a party where I didn't probably offend most of the people there by talking about what I was interested in. (Ray Peat)
