Le sex vs semen retention
-
@healthyfungus Something I wish there was a bit more literature on is the effect of semen on females.
If you look around you'll find some stuff about the semen of fruit flies causing behavioral changes in females, but this hasn't been carried out in humans AFAIK.
If the "potency" of semen is related among other things to the metabolic functionality of sperm cells, then metabolically healthy sperm might have an actual psychological effect on females. In my personal experience this is at least plausible.
It's also an interesting potential vector of horizontal gene transfer. It makes me think about the utility of that even for something like treating diseases "caused" or at least flywheeled on genetic expression.

@Rah1woot It may be beneficial for females, but is it worth losing the semen for a female's benefit?
I'm making a ton of videos on semen retention, here's the first one, and have more coming on the channel.

Hardly the only thing men do for women's benefit... probably the upside for the male-female pair is positive-sum. Even if once a month or so.
Ray Peat talked briefly about how bacteria would donate genetic material through horizontal gene transfer even for "strange, unrelated" bacteria.

I once emailed Dr. Peat about semen’s effect on women and he responded “ I think it’s likely to be beneficial, if the man is healthy.”

@Luke lol.
I have practiced having sex twice a day, and ejaculating on a schedule, but not that often, for about 15 years.
I have found that men can become more masculine, more powerful, more successful, this way. And you are head over heels in love with your partner.
Nothing compares to this to make a wonderful life. Nothing.

I remember an interview with the late Gary Wilson. He said that the doctor who "prescribed" karezza to patients (for birth control) was surprised that one of the side effects was that marriages improved when the guy stopped ejaculating so much. That fits with your description of "head over heels in love with your partner".

@Ecstatic_Hamster I've been trying to make a point of cumming inside, per fertility awareness, I can do it without risk of pregnancy perhaps once a month.
My woman being more healthy is a benefit to me.

Hi, likely gooning/edging ain't optimal and ain't better than ejaculating or no lust at all. I in my experience Gooning/edging doesn't increase any of the things you mentionned above, it reduce it if you do it long enough. Depending on what is optimal for your body at a given time, both no lust at all, and sex with quick ejaculation much better than gooning/edging for everything you mentionned above.
Most animals that we commonly see in documentaries dont have sex most of the years and when they do they dont goon/edge, it often last seconds or minutes

@water-fire not my experience. My own experience and coaching many others, shows me that this works very, very well in maintaining high drive and high interest in one’s partner. It makes for an amazing life. I don’t suggest doing this alone. When it’s sex with a partner it’s completely different than edging to porn by yourself.
