      Anyone like bubble tea?

Rather than order it at high price I got the canned ones. Sugar, milk, sodium bicarbonate, tea, and salt, also a little emulsifier and sucrose / flavor powders.

How bad are the emulsifiers? The sucrose based esters and diglycerides I understand come from vegetable oil. Still, the taste of these is great for a canned drink; far better than any coffee, tea or energy drink too.

Emulsifier s in general aren’t good because alot of them cause internal bleeding(https://lowtoxinforum.com/search/2588885/?q=Emulsifier&c[title_only]=1&c[users]=Haidut&o=relevance). not sure but the ones here might be an exception because they’re not the usual very harmful carrageenan or gums.
Regarding carboxymethylcellulose, I remember ray peat saying in an podcast (danny roddy’s) when asked, that any form of cellulose other than plain cellulose would have estrogenic effects.
Having said all that, I guess you could get some if you’re really tempted (after all ray once said to enjoy what you crave or something like that.)

have you ever tried old fashioned English style tea with milk and sugar? It tastes like bubble tea, maybe even better. (I’m guessing it was the inspiration for bubble tea)
If you want to make some just boil water and pour it on a strong black tea bag (Lipton or English breakfast for example) in a small mug just enough to cover it, not more . After about 5 minutes throw out the tea bag and fill the remainder of the mug with whole milk and 4 or five teaspoons of sugar. That’s it.
It’s important to use whole milk for the creaminess . Cream works too.

@Corngold In addition to what @16charactersitis said, you probably don't need the exposure to lead and cadmium you would get from consuming this product.

Also, the starch ball could be anything starchy, as it is unspecified. You probably want to find a clean large tapioca pearl.
