@eduardo-crispino You're advocating for binging, yo-yo dieting, eating high-PUFA processed foods from Costco so I don't think you're a serious person

@eduardo-crispino Who said hours? 20 minutes high intensity 4-5x/week was all I used

This is me after 40 days of zero fat and 4000 calories of carbs, low protein 60-70g a day.

Since you now want to result to n1s to prove a point.

Also my cardiovascular and libido were the highest they had ever been. All while doing zero resistance training or cardio.

Creating a high metabolism, high anabolic environment and removing inflammation is not equal to your dieting studies.

Also i agree with Ed that gym and cardio addiction is much more of a mental health disorder than enjoying big meals and doing diets that like 90% of the world are basically on.

Your definition of fasting and binging is not the same as was Ed is talking about.

Your experience with the diet is vastly different from mine, Zach. As a small female averaging 3,000 calories and 50 g of protein daily, within 2 months I went from this:

                  99 lb (45 kg)

                  8239b470-34ba-4c11-a96c-f7e830df1240-image.jpeg

                  To this:

                  80 lb (36 kg)

                  de7d69e4-5225-4b78-92f5-f668fe6522cd-image.jpeg

I lost another 13 lb—was down to 67 lb (30 kg)—but don’t have any photos of me at my lowest weight before succumbing to a devastating back injury—my spine collapsed while picking up half a watermelon, due to severe osteoporosis. Within 3 months of my doctor putting me on an ancestral diet, I gained back all the muscle I had lost and because of my spine collapsing, I had to learn how to walk again so I was relatively sedentary during that time. I also built back within the first year most of the bone density I had lost, but it took another decade before I was climbing mountains again because not only did the initial damage to my spine result in disability, any subsequent fracturing could result in paralysis so I’ve had to be extra cautious. As it is, I’m stuck to climbs I can do in a day—no more backpacking trips—because I can no longer carry nearly us much gear as I used to. I used to be able to carry a 60 lb pack, more than double my weight. Now even 40 lb is a challenge.

As im sure you know, you cant get severe osteoporosis from a two month stint of high carb. Im guessing you dealt with many years of eating disorders?

I didn’t follow the diet for only two months, and it wasn’t high carb that caused it but insufficient protein—I still consume a high carb diet. I was just showing the difference in my body composition after 2 months on the diet versus yours after 40 days on it. I haven’t dealt with eating disorders, no, unless one considers following a restrictive diet like high-carb, low-protein an eating disorder. I followed it in attempt to heal from the depression I had at the time, which advocates of the diet claimed it helps. And yes, vegan, specifically fruit-based. I followed Dr. Douglas Graham’s 80/10/10 diet and was a member of Harley’s (Durianrider) and Leanne’s (Freelee) old forum 30 Bananas a Day, around the time of its inception, almost 20 years ago, when they were still promoting 80/10/10 raw. To this day, any less than 60 g of protein daily and all my old symptoms return.

Jennifer, you were absolutely dealing with an eating disorder. Veganism, 80/10/10, fruitarianism. These are death cult diets, diseases of the mind.

Our experiences were not the same in any way because i came from an omnivore lifestyle, in my 40 days i ate lean proteins and zero fat animal products and when i ended i went back to an omnivore lifestyle.

You were on a true eating disorder lifestyle for i dont know how long but to get that advanced with under weight and bone loss, it must of been a few years anyway, then you restricted even further. Do you see the difference?

My zero fat diet protocol is for people who want to lose fat, its a set of short term dietary principles that absolutely will lean someone out faster than any other diet. Its not meant to be long term, and its flexible to allow for refeeding of animal products any time and most of all its not a restriction diet.

                          Not the same.

@Zachs Respect for posting a pic (assuming it's real)

But you're not very muscular and you're not that lean. Sorry it's the truth. I had guessed from when I first read your claim that "Bodybuilders would feel better from a reduction of muscle" that you were small and not that lean and it looks like I was right.

Building muscle is not just vanity it is essential to health and insulin sensitivity and raising the metabolic rate.

If you truly did this near zero protein sugar fad diet for 40 days, you almost certainly lost muscle since you claim you didn't even do resistance training. What you discovered is not new or special at all, it's simply calorie restriction. But it's not anti-catabolic.

The whole point of fat loss is to lose fat while preserving or gaining muscle. Your "sugar diet" fails miserably in that framework. What doesn't fail miserably? Moderate/high protein, clen, and weightlifting with re-feeds as necessary.

😆 Well i was 5,11 and 152lbs so yea i was pretty lean and for not doing any lifting, yea i was pretty muscular. Like i said, bodybuilding is a mental illness and unnatural. Yes leanness and muscularity is essential for long life but being overly muscular is stressful and so is excessive lifting and cardio. Theres a reason you dont see any old bodybuilders or even ones looking good into their 70s+.

You can be dismissive, arrogant (ignorant) all you want about what the diet can and cannot do but until you experience it for yourself, you have no idea and are just blowing smoke.

Oh and the whole point of the experiment was to see if i lost fat on caloric surplus, i deliberately ate at least 4000 calories a day.

You really just dont understand, but thats ok, im not here to convince anyone. But if the OP wants to lose fat, this is the way.

@Zachs Haha ya I'm definitely "missing out" by not taking the advice from the 150 lb 5'11 guy who ate only sugar for a month without doing any lifting. This is a thread about someone wanting to get lean. Your advice will result in muscle loss and catabolism. I provided about 6 studies to support the common sense point that protein restriction on a "sugar diet" is retarded to lose weight.

Yes i lost 40lbs in a month enjoying my diet and doing literally nothing hard and looked and felt awesome.

You did a bodybuilder diet, took drugs, did tons of cardio and training to look mediocre for a bodybuilder.

                                        Not the same.

No idea why your holding fast to your vitriol but it really is a bad look. OP is asking to get lean fast, you gave your advice, ed and I gave ours. Move on.
