Has anyone seen this and what do you think? I've had good luck with MB so curious about this as it paints it in a very bad light.

        Hi,
I don't trust the link you gave (redirection).
Here is useful info (see details on next post).

          MB in short
NB: I don't follow a link if there isn't an abstract or a comment. 😉

          • MB is antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial. But there is no accustumance.
          • Above these abilities, MB is able to increase CO2 in many circumstances, which is pro-metabolic.
When the concentration of lactic acid is high, the concentration of carbon dioxide will be low. These two have an inverse relationship.
          • Half-life of MB is +/ 30 H. So taking low dose every 24H could be optimal: 1-2 mg. At a level at 1-2 mg a day, the harm is put only on the unwanted pathogens.
          • Useful to get rid of age spots (due to lipofuscin).
          • In combination with red light therapy, MB can target a specific area (tumor) without the heavily side-effects of a chemotherapy.
          • Besides everything that’s listed above it is a potent anti-edema, anti-histamine, mood stabilizer, a remedy to mold toxicity
. and the list goes on.
          • Remember that the stress system is good in emergency situations, but only for very short periods of time. There may be also a temporary increase in blood pressure if you are hypertensive to begin with.
          • If you are taking an MAO-A inhibitor or SSRI then methylene blue may precipitate something called “serotonin syndrome”. The reason methylene blue does this is because it inhibits MAO-A which is the enzyme that degrades serotonin. But by itself, methylene blue will not cause these effects. But at a low dose of 1-2 mg, the margin is safe.
          • MB leaves quinones which could be a problem in excess: too much of a good thing is bad (ability to accept electrons => interference with metabolism). MB is an extremely powerful electron acceptor.
          • However, if you don’t need it, it is supposed not to harm you: If you can manage to get rid of excess quinones.
Note: See the link for scientific studies and a link for oxidal (from researcher Georgi Dinkov, alias Haidut).
Have a cup of coffee before since the article is rather long (14 A4 pages).

Have you personal experience of MB, would love to hear it😁

No experience. Just read the "theory" and I've tried to connect the dots.
No real need except I could try a low dose MB on histamine and lipofuscin (72 years old).
NB: oxidal from IdeaLabs has high costs for delivery, too high for Europe. Moreover no hormones are allowed to be sent, from an other area (continent) even with a doctor's prescription.

As I didn't want to die like an idiot, I've made a search with LucH's pendulum (in a secure mode) on MB alert from Dr. Peter Breggin.

                  Context
Who are Dr. Peter and Ginger Breggin? (3)
Peter Breggin MD, psychiatrist, legal expert, therapist, author of 70 scientific publications and 20+ books, is known as “The Conscience of Psychiatry.” He and wife Ginger authored the bestseller COVID-19 and the Global Predators: We Are the Prey.

                  Documented adverse effects
                  https://sayerji.substack.com/p/the-blue-brain-effect-methylene-blues

                  • When combined with serotonergic psychiatric medications.
                  • If suffering from hemolytic anemia, particularly in patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency.
                  • Cardiovascular side effects by patients with high blood pressure problems. Many adverse reactions. Could be transitorily if proceeded with low dose (1-2 mg) and with staples (not on a continuously take).
=> Caution: Avoid concomitant use of methylene blue with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (interaction).
                    Detailed explanation:
                    ‱ MAO-A Inhibition:
Methylene blue is a reversible inhibitor of MAO-A, meaning it blocks the enzyme's activity of breaking down serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine.
                    ‱ Serotonin Toxicity:
When used in combination with serotonergic drugs (like SSRIs), the MAO-A inhibition by methylene blue can lead to a build-up of serotonin, resulting in serotonin toxicity.

                  My opinion (LucH)
While MB may offer neuroprotective and antioxidant properties, prolonged use may pose risks if not managed correctly. High doses of MB can lead to neurotoxicity, with symptoms like confusion, restlessness, tremors, and even seizures. MB can interact with other medications, especially serotonergic drugs, potentially causing serotonin syndrome (withdrawal symptoms).
However, any substance taken in excess is toxic. The dose make the poison. Not only the dose but the ground (genetic susceptibility).

                  Safety Considerations and Optimal Usage
While Methylene Blue shows promise, it's essential to understand proper usage guidelines. Research indicates that the cognitive benefits follow a hormetic dose-response curve – meaning that while low doses can be beneficial, higher doses may not provide additional benefits and could potentially be counterproductive.
                  Vocabulary: hormetic dose
Hormesis is a biological phenomenon where a low dose of a potentially harmful stressor, such as a toxin or environmental factor, stimulates a beneficial effect and high-dose amounts are either inhibitory to function or toxic.

                  Endpoint:
                  a) While MB may offer neuroprotective and antioxidant properties, prolonged use may pose risks if not managed correctly. High doses of MB can lead to neurotoxicity, with symptoms like confusion, restlessness, tremors, and even seizures. MB can interact with other medications, especially serotonergic drugs, potentially causing serotonin syndrome (withdrawal symptoms).
Before taking a molecule to encounter / change brain activity or to impact vital organs as liver and heart, the least you can do is find out about contraindications and side effects.
                  b) Dr. Peter Roger Breggin is an American psychiatrist ((born May 11, 1936). He’s against all invasive form of psychotropic medicine. Thus, Dr. Peter Breggin can’t admit the use of MB for the brain. It makes sense for him.

@LucH Thanks so much for the great replies! I believe both Georgi and Mr Heeney recommend low dose of MB (1mg) which is what I take (2-3 drops of Oxidal).

@mm33 methylene blue is a neurotoxin, It has the same basic chemical composition and harmful clinical effects as the oldest monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). Don’t fall for the massive push seen everywhere to take it. Look deeper.
