I opened this topic to get further insight into things that could alleviate my current symptoms of Ulcerative colitis, induce remission and for anyone who suffers from UC that could benefit from this information.

I was diagnosed almost 10 years ago and was fine up until February this year when I got a flare up after consuming large amounts of commercial milk. I tried multiple substances but nothing helped, after a few days of debilitating diarrhea my condition has only worsened and I unfortunately had to be put on prednisone. After a month of treatment I laid off the prednisone but the symptoms slowly came back after a few weeks and I had to resume the treatment.

And here I am now, I stopped taking the glucorticosteroids 4 days ago, my skin is the worst it ever has been and I still feel pretty bad. My gut feels unstable like it could break out any second.

I've decided that this time I'm going to include protective measures that will stop my gut from going back into self-destruct mode. Currently, my treatment plan consists of:

      • Nicotine and cigarette use
      • 4g of Mesalazine daily
      • Vitamin E and coconut oil enemas
      • High dose Vitamin D
      • Royal Jelly and Bee pollen/Propolis

From the things I've tried before; progesterone, thyroid, DHEA, grounding and red light therapy aimed at the stomach or sunbathing had no effect. The best thing for my gut so far was nicotine, cyproheptadine on the other hand had little to no effect.

I'm starting the protocol tomorrow. I would appreciate it if anyone has something helpful to share.

      Some studies to look into:
Low-dose smoking resumption in ex-smokers with refractory ulcerative colitis
Successful Long‐term Treatment of Diversion Colitis with Topical Coconut Oil Application
Vitamin E has a dual effect of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities in acetic acid–induced ulcerative colitis in rats
Rectal administration of d-alpha tocopherol for active ulcerative colitis: A preliminary report
Royal Jelly Protected against Dextran-Sulfate-Sodium-Induced Colitis by Improving the Colonic Mucosal Barrier and Gut Microbiota
Dietary Propolis Ameliorates Dextran Sulfate Sodium-Induced Colitis and Modulates the Gut Microbiota in Rats Fed a Western Diet

For me mesalazine pills did nothing but suppositories made a huge difference.
