Calcium consumption?

I have acid reflux, and I'm trying to fix it (probiotics, better food, getting it scoped by a doctor) but until then I eat like 4-10 1 gram calcium carbonate tablets a day. Should I be concerned about tissue calcification from this? I take Vitamin K + Vitamin D and then an additional Vitamin K. All of these are just nutricost vitamins from amazon. Pls help me not get calcified soft tissues

According to Dr Berg on YT, acid reflux is caused by NOT ENOUGH acid in the stomach. Maybe test it out.
As for the calcification issue, my understanding is that the body is quite good at controlling serum calcium. With excessive intake less and less will be absorbed. It may block other minerals like magnesium uptake though.

Dietary/supplemental calcium will not cause soft tissue calcification. That's with or without vitamin K. The vitamin K industry has used a lot of propaganda to get people to buy their expensive K2 formulas. They're not needed to "transport" the calcium where it needs to be. Under the presence of high carbon dioxide this process happens with just normal amounts of K in diet. Without good CO2, even large dosages of vitamin K won't help. Calcium carbonate can also raise CO2 levels.

@DBL21 you should be a lot more worried about all the toxins they put in the pills ypou were taking. tissue calcification is moreso linked with calcium deficiency (and other factors that cause the cakcium to end up in your tissues) than dietary calcium excess

for acid reflux. baking soda. Solved it for me, at least as a quick remedy. buy some arm and hammer and have it next to your bed with something to drink. will get rid of it. to me acid eflux is linked to hypothyroidism for sure.

Imho, often overlooked is acid-base balance w/r to tissue calcification. Easy to test at home with pH test strips (cheap too) to measure urine and saliva pH. There's a method to the madness.
If you have good to optimal sugar metabolism, you don't have to do much as acid-base balance is built into it. This way, calcium is well-regulated by potassium in the cell membrane, keeping calcium out of the cell as much as possible with only enough allowed in to allow muscles the calcium gradient (between inside and outside the cell) that enables contraction and relaxation of muscles.
Apart from the metabolic factors (nutrition inputs, sun, oxygen, sleep), metabolism can be impaired by the presence of toxins and infections that left unresolved will cause energy to be directed towards continually fighting small fires where energy production is impaired, and the loss of energy will cause the body to compensate with more stress hormones. These stress hormones can help us in times of great stress, but a body always in stress mode becomes a body in survival mode. And a body in such a mode will very likely calcify because being chronically stressed will be expressed in poor acid-base balance, and calcium can easily accumulate in tissues and calcificarion and fibrosis will result.
