Liver and oysters? Vit A supplement?

Has anyone successfully avoided eating liver by supplementing vit A instead? Same for oysters? Interested if anyone has actually done this long term

@Kenji liver and oysters provide a lot more nutrients than just vitamin A. Liver is loaded with B vitamins, copper, selenium and more. Oysters are high in zinc and also provide copper, selenium. These are essential for good metabolism and the advice to have weekly liver and oysters is simple straightforward advice to make sure you’re getting these nutrients without having to take a fat stack of supplements - better to get as much as you can from food before supplementing. Vitamin A is important of course but it’s not the only reason to eat liver.

@Kenji If you have 2 litres or so of milk a day plus a few eggs you are getting easily enough vitamin A. I actively detest liver and no matter how I cook it I can't man myself up enough to eat it. Shellfish are great for minerals though.

Easiest way I have found to eat Oysters...buy the canned smoked kind for Trader Joes, Drain and rinse. Mix with sour cream, 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar or lemon juice.
Add a tsp of salt and sugar and assorted spices-fresh or dried. I like fresh dill and a dried ranch mix -no additive. Let it sit for a couple hours. The oyster flavor is nuetralized a lot.
