New "Mission" of RPF

I see he still has the motto "perceive, think, act" on the head of the website what hilarious irony.
George Orwell would be proud.

@Truth said in New "Mission" of RPF:
Hi, according to Charlie, it's no longer allowed on the "Ray Peat" forum to share "pro vitamin A studies."
To then say it's an essential nutrient
This is not the official stance of the forum, it is Charlie's personal belief, 99.99% of the people on the forum do not share this idea, neither does Ray Peat,
Charlie you can and should remove the name "Ray Peat" from the name of the site, because it is not allowed to share studies that correspond to Ray's ideas, in this case it is only allowed to share studies if they correspond and are not in contradiction with your personal beliefs
Charlie who is potentially trying to make people believe that Raymond Peat's perspective on receptors implies that if there are no receptors for a certain element/nutrient, then that element is not essential, Raymond absolutely never said that(from what i have Seen), Raymond said that even without receptors various elements/nutrients have positive effects

@Truth I hope I'm wrong but I think there is nothing that will change his mind. By the way before long it will be you can no longer post positive posts about Vitamin D, Calcium, Dairy etc. Everyone will be walking on eggshells afraid of getting banned and no one fully knows what the rules are so people will just stop contributing. It's complete forum suicide.
-
@S-Holmes I don't even glance at that forum any more, slowly working my way through https://wiki.chadnet.org/ray-peat
Should Charlie see this, unlikely, I'll just leave this;
A mind is like a parachute it only works when it is open. -
@Verdad the forum is dead, he will potentially change the name

@Peatful
Is Danny aware of the degeneration of RPF? He had an account there but wasn't active. I don't use any social media and don't know how to contact him.Maybe he could talk to Katherine about it. It's an utter disgrace that his name is being dragged through the mud with that forum named after him. I can't imagine that his widow is pleased by that.
He's certainly aware, but I'm not sure if anything can be done about it.
-
@Truth I think that he likely will change the name to I don't know, "the great awakening forum" or some other equally cult like nonsense. I just hope he doesn't purge all the great info there is on there. He is in full paranoia mode from what I've read. He thinks everyone is about to attack him and bring him down. These are all symptoms of biological stress.

Spoke with my FIL briefly
Yes
This is why they have Copyright, Trademark and Patent specialty lawyersFrom what I understand from my conversation
Charlie is breaking the law under a copyright law
He needs to either change the forum name-
Or
Take down all of Ray’s articles and newslettersIf Ray was incorporated
That would also be a second offenseI honestly wish Charlie the best
He really has himself in a bad positionHealth to all….
-
@Peatful what are the specific laws being broken? Do they have to do with misrepresenting someone's views, or something else?
-
@TheSir hey, I’m at work, and this is voice recognition. My father-in-law said a lot, but it’s lawyer speak. Something I’m not well-versed in.
I’m a big idea person not a detail person but I am sure a simple Google search would be able to clarify or define what you’re asking.

This is crazy.
I'm very concerned about all the valuable threads being lost, and especially the Ray Peat email depository. Is any of this available to download anywhere?

@Light
Don't worry, member haidut scraped the site sometime ago, he has a business to protect, which got him banned, then surprisingly reinstated some days after.
I am sure you know Ray's site raypeat.com and other people have his work to hand, https://wiki.chadnet.org/ray-peat for example.I just don't want new people interpreting Ray's principles with that new Vitamin A toxic rubbish and toxic bile theory 'Muddying' the waters.
I hope Katherine, or another Family member of Ray will serve a cease and desist letter, unless the Forum name changes, this is very important now that Ray is not here to defend his legacy.........Peace.
-
@Truth @Not_James_Bond well if anyone can send me a link where the threads and especially the email depository are, I'd appreciate it. The email depository should absolutely be available to the public and not under the ownership of one person's website.
-
@Light Check out https://peatarchive.com/ - searchable mirror of the forum

Someone asked the obvious question about vitamin d, calcium, fructose and look at his response.
So vitamin D is not a toxin but supplementing it is a toxin so if we post a study about supplementing Vitamin D will that get us banned?
Again everyone going to be walking on eggshells unsure of what they can and cannot say, one day it will be ok to talk about vitamin D the next day it won't total and utter shambles.
I hope he keeps going because the more he talks like this the more people will leave for greener pastures. I was holding out hope for a long time that he may come to his senses but i just don't see it now.

Thanks but that does not have an accessible email depository in its entirety, correct? I'd have to just search for the term I want?

@Light I scraped and backed up that forum thread a while back. You can find it on: https://github.com/o1brad/peatbot-data, unzip the file, it's the only markdown
.md
file.
