Bok Choy and Sweet Potato as intestinal cleanser
-
In two different occasions, I reintroduce into my diet well cooked bok choy, and I had a purple sweet potato. Both times it seemed to benefit my gut, especially with the sweet potato.
I looked into the ratio of insoluble to soluble fiber , and found out that both have a higher ratio of insoluble to soluble fiber, with bok choy having a ratio simile to the carrot salad.
I ranked few foods below with AI accounting for insoluble to soluble ratio. Purple sweet potato seems to have also some pholyphenols that can be useful for SIBO, possibly why I had that good outcome eating it.
- Mushrooms → 4:1 to 8:1
- Carrot salad → 3:1 to 4:1
- Bok choy → 3:1 to 4:1
- White sweet potato → 2:1 to 3:1
- Purple sweet potato → ~2:1
- Oat bran → ~1.2–1.5:1

I actually just realized Yucca also has a 3:1 4:1 ratio just like the carrot salad and bok choy
