Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor, and bromocriptine is a vasodilator.
The positive effects of nicotine is pretty established here.
It Lowers all the stress hormones.

I’ve experienced it’s vasoconstriction effects as well, and it led me to stop. My nose gets cold to the touch and to inhale thru. The impact of that after 20 years is definitely not worth it. For this reason, Ray said nicotine would cause premature wrinkles, and should be limited to use by old people.

Bromocriptine is a very strong vasodilator, and many people get closed nostrils from the loosened veins in the peripheral tissues — I get it pretty terribly.

I took a whole bromocriptine tablet, which clogs my nose for over a day every time, then smoked a cig, and my nose was maybe 20% closed the following morning.

The next day, I took a bromo tablet after eating dinner, and smoked a whole cigar about 20 minutes later. Up front, I started getting a cold nose. After about an hour, my nose was warm. My nose remained warm the rest of the night and this morning, with almost no discernible swelling in my nostrils. I should definitely take bromo on an empty stomach.
