North America urban areas might be too ugly for optimal health

Outside of really rich areas like some suburbs around the major cities, I find much of North America's built environment to be almost intolerably bad, visually. It's very ugly. I am thinking of starting a demolition company to bulldoze and blow up and re-design everything.

True. I think it is due to automobile infrastructure. Not saying everything was beautiful pre-1950s, but much of the historic fabric and architecture was demolished and blown out as if a bomb went off when the Interstate system was implemented.
Buffalo is one of the ugliest cities in the US now, though it still has the fabric and geometry laid out by Olmstead > 100 years ago. DC is beautiful in part because of building height restrictions and road networks inspired by Paris.
Despite extensive railroad and public rail / streetcars of the past, most places are built for the automobile, not for people.

@alfredoolivas mainland England is objectively more beautiful in many areas due to lush greenery lining roads and more antique walls and buildings, as well as narrower roads. I notice Netherlands is also pretty nice too, especially where they grow big trees alongside roads.
