      this reminds me of what i in the past read about dht which has prevented me from trying to get ahold of it

        @lobotomize I think there is another thread on this very subject. (Maybe it was on the RPF.) As someone who used to do creative work daily, I feel coffee hindered my ability for nuance and subtlety. It did supply energy and drive.

          I'm assuming it was black coffee, which could have raised cortisol? Cortisol is opposite a creative mind

            @Mossy were you drinking it on an empty stomach back then? Ray Peat thought caffeine speeds up how fast you burn through glucose, so without food the adrenaline goes up. In his caffeine article he said experiments with coffee "taken on an empty stomach are measuring the effects of increased temperature and metabolic rate, combined with increased adrenaline (resulting from the decrease of glucose)." That would fit getting the drive but losing some of the nuance. I'd be curious if it's the same with milk and sugar in it.
