I switched up the diet a bit to get more carbs from sugars via juices, fruits (mainly dates and mangoes), and the only starchy carb I'll eat is white rice with my meats and seafood. Since eating 400g of carbs a day starting from Monday, this I've shed a few pounds but MAN am I hungrier than ever. Does this mean it's working? Is my metabolism healing?

@dannyphantom Most men need 100G protein and at least 2000 KCAL. I would not go hungry. Your metabolism is probably healing, but this is usually a slow process.

Put yourself on fire for peak energy metabolism.

      Ignore, judge, overcommit.

@dannyphantom Good. I still would not go hungry. Just avoid eating after you are full, and then rather eat more often.

Are you nice and warm? A good metabolism on a very high-carb diet will make you warm and relaxed, especially in your extremities. It's really hard for anyone to say if the "metabolism is healing" because there's no marker to indicate such, and only you know how you feel. But here are some tips:

            Do you feel warm?
Is your postprandial temps and pulse good?
Is your TSH, T4, T3, PTH, vit D, and prolactin all good levels?
Do you have dyslipidemia (over 250 mg/dl)?
Are you losing bodyfat, not necessarily bodyweight?

I will say 400 grams is quite a lot, it's not insanely high, but it's up there. I clock in around 280-300 grams a day. If you feel good then keep it up...provided your thyroid, PTH, cholesterol, and all that other stuff checks out. I would personally eat a little more protein and a little less carbohydrate. But everyone's going to be different in this regard. I will say one thing, limiting protein can be very therapeutic in the short-term if you're dealing with excessive gluconeogenesis. But it's something you want to ideally fix, rather then going your whole life eating restricted protein.

Add some fat like butter or coconut oil.
