Homemade red light array

Recently 250W chicken bulbs went on sale next to my home. I now have 6 bulbs!
6 is probably more than enough for a full body panel but I'll use the excess to light my home.I have also noticed an odd smell eminating from the rooms I use them in. It's a metallic, toxic smelling odour.
I keep windows open just in case but does anyone know where this would come from? -
What kind of fixtures are you putting the bulbs in? You might be heating them up too much.

@Peatriot I was using soviet era plastic ceiling lamp and IKEA 40W bedside table lamp but I have acquired ceramic lamp sockets.
99% sure the smell is from the bulbs.

@questforhealth I noticed the red colour slowly peels off the lamps lol, it must be burning off.

Wtf, these lamps scare me, I burnt myself so bad on mine. Little round patch on my shoulder now.

@questforhealth haha I have a little "cigar burn" on my bicep. Treated with methylene blue
It helps to be careful around 200 degree celsius glass, especially if droplets of water can cause them to explode.
