Topical Solutions on scalp for hair regrowth

@TopicalsOnBalls im trying egg yolk as per ngolo tesla on twitter. Ill let you know
-
@RePeat I think there’s probably a formula for a hair mask involving egg yolks and other natural ingredients that could potentially help, probably requires a long time for absorption, might consider doing as an overnight thing.

Some ideas:
- Topical caffeine solution (some evidence it's almost equal to minoxidil in its effects)
- Topical antihistamines seem to be able to help
- Using red light topically
- Topical progesterone (maybe adding DMSO to increase absorption if comfortable)
- Topical T3 (Maybe tyronene from idealabs which is already a liquid)
- Maybe topical lidocaine?
- Lots of people talk about castor oil and rosemary oil
- Massaging (and derma rolling if comfortable)
-
@TopicalsOnBalls unfortunately, I do not know of a regrowth solution, however: I can tell you that I knew an elderly lady some years ago who used to wrap her hair in yolk and castor oil overnight (maybe once a week) and she truly had beautiful, thick hair (she was already in her 80's). So, I can believe that egg yolk is really good for your existing hair at least.

I mentioned this on RPF. I've used it, my hair feels great with it applied. It's more about maintaining a decent head of hair for me, but I saw some pics with improvements.
It's just buffered niacin.

So I’m looking into using a progesterone cream for my scalp, the idea is that when it’s claimed that finasteride works, it’s because of its progesterone like activity, so I figured why not use progesterone instead and avoid the effects of blocking 5-ar. This theoretically can be the primary tool to stop the root cause like finasteride is used, while other methods like growth promoters such as minoxidil can be seen as the secondary tool.
So while I’m at, I’m looking into what can be used as something like minoxidil, where the role is to increase blood flow for oxygen & nutrients to the hair follicles. Minoxidil is considered not good for its increase in nitric oxide, so what would be an alternative for this method? -
Whatever you try topically on the scalp make sure to wash it well a few hours before it starts clogging the follicles on your scalp. Any treatment should be considered leave-in for a number of hours and then washed out with a good shampoo.
Topical application abuse can lead to more hair thinning which is a pain to recover from and requires a shit ton of high metabolism.
-
@tea I was thinking about leaving it on overnight and washing it out in the morning? Reckon that should be fine?
-
@TopicalsOnBalls yes, never more than 12 hours or so.

I literaly readed a article 2 days ago, that progesterons creams never work, bc there is rlly low progesterone in most creams
-
@basednigga2006 have you heard of Ona’s naturals progesterone cream, I was looking at using there 10% cream, they have a 20% as well.
-
@tea What evidence is there for "clogging follicles"? And for all topicals? Really?
-
@Cicero yes, especially the fatty topicals. There is an interesting Twitter thread about this from the handle @jessicagenetics on Twitter. Without washing the topicals quickly enough you'll start having build-up, product buildup leads to more hair thinning.

currently i am trying:
-
topical minoxidil 5% liquid, 1ml daily applied to temples (although im thinking of changing to foam minoxidil)
-
topical coke for the glucose
-
topical caffeine
-
topical taurine
additionally im trying to
-keep high calcium to phosphate ratio
-supplementing vitamin d and magnesium
-getting sunlight
-getting one serving of ground beef / eggs daily for the micronutrients + fat soluble vitamins.
-making sure im getting at least 5 grams of sodium daily to keep aldosterone levels low
-and massaging scalp as often as possible.i also want to get into the habit of doing some inversion therapy as well, just folding over and touching my toes for a minute or two gets a ton of blood to rush to my head.

@Chud interesting, you’re not concerned of the downstream effects of minoxidil?
Unique way to use coke, I’ve read about others getting glucose to the scalp by using a honey mask or making a scalp scrub with sugar, any particular reason you’re using coke? -

im making sure to apply minoxidil away from the times i dermastamp, i wait 24 hours, the systemic aborbtion is very low from what ive read.
i am a little concerned about downstream effects, i think haidut posted on RPF how some people are getting PFS from topical minox which is pretty scary.
https://www.askapatient.com/viewrating.asp?drug=20834&name=ROGAINE+EXTRA+STRENGTH+(FOR+MEN)ive been on it for a few weeks now and my erections are fine and no sides so far. its by far the most effective pharmaceutical for hairloss and doesnt seem to mess with DHT so im taking the chance.

honey is too sticky and gets tangled in my hair. i filled a spray bottle with some coke and just spray it on my scalp and massage it in whenever i can remember, its just a convenient way to get some sugar on there.
"Ray Peat: I've been thinking that with a concentrated glucose solution, you could probably activate hair growth just by keeping your scalp moistened with glucose."
