Anabology's "Honey Diet" Experiment
-
Hi all. I have decided to give the "Honey Diet" a go, though I will be using orange juice in place of honey as well as sugar, maple sugar, and maple syrup in coffee.
For some background, I ate primarily carnivore for roughly 4 years before coming across Peat and much of his work. I never had any issues as a carnivore, was a fairly lean individual and had plenty of energy but as many of you can imagine I was concerned about long term and thyroid/hormonal health. Cue "Peating" and with is as one can imagine I put on quite a bit of weight, likely from combining too much fat and/or protein with carb. As a result I have struggled a bit to now lose the fat around my mid section and have therefore decided to try out this "diet" as an approach to become lean again without going back to low carb.
My days will primarily look like this:
From waking-3pm- Orange juice
- Coffee with sugar, maple syrup, maple sugar
- Other simple sugar fruits if they are in the house
I will then "fast" from 3-7
Dinner will be
- 1 lb lean lamb and or beef
- as much rice as I feel like
- 2 large glasses of milk
- maybe veg if its in the house
I will probably update with weight and overall feel each week or so. At the end of the experiment I may upload a pre/post. Any thoughts or advice is welcome!

@ccousz Coconut oil is good for weight loss, as long as you don't get too much that the high fat/high carb regimen slows your metabolism. Try eating a spoonful or two after a meal or in the carrot salad. Good luck.

https://raypeat.com/articles/articles/coconut-oil.shtmlI would recommend first trying the low(er) fat approach, then depending how you feel and or results incorporate coconut oil in the evening in week 2 or 3 etc.
Another version of this diet is coconut oil all day with the sugars, but zero protein till night time.

@ccousz I would use dairy as your main protein source over beef for a higher Ca:P ratio

I realize this is an old thread by an inactive poster but a few comments for those who may be considering something similar.
1lb of muscle meat, 2 cups of slow digesting milk, rice, questionable vegetable fibers and starch? That's an aweful lot of food and mixing for most folks going to bed just a few hours later, all while trying to lose mid-section fat. Maybe the original poster keeps unique hours but I can't think of many folks who would need that much and that sort of energy at that time.
