Dr. Peat recommends sleeping caps made of soft wool. Are regular beanies OK? When I wear it to sleep, it usually slides off by the time I wake up. I was thinking of sowing a string to the sides to make sure it stays on like a helmet.

What else would improve sleep quality/body temperature? What are some ways I might increase CO2 in my bedroom?

@zsoroaszter i like plant in my room, also keep bedroom door closed at all times to keep co2 high, wool socks to bed, baking soda before bed, maybe mouth tape if you can tolerate

@zsoroaszter I can vouch for beanies. I have been sleeping with a beanie every night for a very long time, heavily improves sleep quality. I've tried wool vs polyester beanies, I don't think it actually makes a difference.

Maybe try half a teaspoon baking soda before bed for C02 boost.

@donovan Plants are a good idea, I'll definitely invest in that. How much baking soda do you recommend? Half a teaspoon?

@Hitler Thanks Hitler, I always appreciate your input. How do you keep the beanie on your head? Mine always slides off.

@zsoroaszter I’ve only done as much as 1/4 tsp bc that’s what i had in my medicine cabinet but I’ve heard of people going upwards of 1tbsp. I just dry-scooped like creatine. It definitely helped my sleep quality

@zsoroaszter I just have one that kind of fits nicely on my head, i pull it down to almost cover my eyes, and the back of the beanie fits the back of my head well, down to where my hair ends. I think just having a nice fit is key, if your beanie is too small then it will inevitably fall off in the middle of the night.

Or perhaps you just move too much when you sleep, and in that case I would recommend trying the string thing.
