Order of Operations for healing Metabolism
-
I'm trying to figure out where to start. Obviously I want to correct nutritional deficiencies, fix gut health problems, optimize my nutrition for best metabolism, and get my thyroid in it's most healthy state. I just don't know the order and how to do it!
My mind goes to gut health fixing first, then deficiencies, then a wider array of foods, and then thyroid tuning at the end.
Are there any good guides for gut healing? My stomach hurts all of the time and I have bad BMs + GERD constantly.

@DBL21 Step one is to eliminate as much PUFA from your diet as possible. You can look this up (and I'll post it when I find it amongst my thousand open tabs) but the cells in your gut turnover approximately every 2-3 days. So, dropping PUFA should result in a pretty immediate result within half a week.
I'll let others chime in as to what they recommend for Step 2.

I have contemplated this very thing since I found Peat’s work. I think it might be different for everyone.
For me, it was liver, gut, thyroid. For others maybe just optimizing thyroid could fix everything else, and still others might do well simply fixing their gut. All said, live gut and thyroid are probably good places to start.

@cremes I've already essentially done that the past two weeks. My diet right now is basically fruit, dairy, some semi processed meat, and oysters from cans currently, and will soon have ground beef in there as a protein source (moved and had no dishes so waiting to get some delivered to actually be able to cook again). What would recommend while I'm depleting PUFA to do next? Ideally I want to try to help put together a sort of standard takeoff list to share eventually.
