It showed that taurine modulates oxidative stress, a key mechanism in NAFLD pathogenesis. These mechanisms include the reduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and the increase of antioxidants, such as reduced glutathione, in the liver. Taurine also affects lipid metabolism by stimulating mitochondrial β-oxidation and the expression and activity of 7α-hydroxylase, a crucial enzyme in bile acid synthesis, contributing to cholesterol reduction.
Similar changes were induced by a diet rich in PUFA in the following studies, and taurine was also shown to reduce oxidative stress and insulin resistance.

@Fructose Nice find, thanks!
I've just added some more taurine to my orange juice
-
I like 1g taurine before Muay Thai
-
@Fructose Ive been having a redbull everyday since 2019, anti aging all along
-
@donovan Do you notice any enhanced effects during your martial arts training?
-
@PUFADestroyerPPO id say able to go longer without being fatigued (endurance), and marginally better recovery. But definitely better endurance.
“ Taurine dosing appears to be effective at ~ 1–3 g/day acutely across a span of 6–15 days (1–3 h before an activity) which may improve aerobic performance (TTE), anaerobic performance (strength, power), recovery (DOMS), and a decrease in metabolic markers (creatine kinase, lactate, inorganic phosphate).”

@donovan woah, incredible!
Will def order as a loose supplement now, as I am a boxer myself

@PUFADestroyerPPO taurine especially great for combat sports for the prehab / rehab effects on brain injuries.
