Why does the idea of self betterment or exploring alternative pathways confuse, frighten, and enrage normies so much?

Tell them you simple stuff like cold showers and fasting and they'll treat you like you're suicidal.
Good luck mentioning Semen Retention (colloquially known as NoFap) and not get 100 raging reddit replies. Normies aren't even immune to trying new approaches, like the 100+ ineffective diets and "bodyweight exercises" and whatnot. They are gluttons for novelty.

But tell them how you lost 20lbs by cutting out PUFAs (colloquially known as Goyslop) and they'll seethe as if you somehow cheated and won, meanwhile they start killing themselves with obesity drugs. Worst of all is despite achieving no results on any of their goals, normies feel most qualified to give you advice on every topic from fitness to health to finance.

Obviously the answer is to not give a shit, but why is it so difficult for normies to accept that if they aren't achieving the results they want with the methods they use, they should change the method even if it's not easy?

@gamblemaxxer Whatever the problem is, weight or whatever, it often is actually desired on some level by the individual I think, as a kind of catalyst for personal change or growth. Have to decide to do it urself, having someone else no matter how well intentioned do it for you baffles this purpose. This is basically what free will looks like, you can offer a cure but only the individual can cure themselves ultimately. Frustrating but the best way is to be radiant example and only aid when asked.

@gamblemaxxer People hate being told what to do.

Instead try telling them these things indirectly. "I stopped jacking off because the sexual frustration motivates and energizes me" or fasting as a religious thing. Tell 'em to cut off PUFAs because "repurposed machine oil is for poorfags." Be deliberately obtuse and abrasive and they won't be able to stop themselves from being fascinated.

This is because first and foremost, der normgroid has evolved to be beaten to near death over and over. His entire existence is calibrated to having a jackboot shatter the vertebrae in his neck and pulverize his teeth every day. They love being insulted and treated like subhuman morons!

            fasting as a religious thing

Mentioning religion is even worse because so many of these empty vessels are inhabited by demons.

From the simple statistical perspective, we have something like 85% of people unwilling to make bigger changes (usually, 70% can make small changes and 15% want no changes at all).
And there is a top 1% of the population who are radical change agents...

Usually, the ratio is like this:

              • 1-15% of leaders and 85% normies/NPCs
              • 1-15% of masters and 85% of slaves
              • 1-15% of maximizers and 85% satisficers

BTW An effective way to convince a normie to change something may be to do it in a small step and ensure:

              • room for a change - them having enough time and resources (energy/money) to execute
              • proper opportunity - i.e. changing something will be easier/cheaper for them than staying the same and/or change will provide 10x results in comparison to standard
              • related narrative - other (higher status) people talking and doing change too, because normies like to copy behaviors of others...

There shallow draughts intoxicate the brain,
And drinking largely sobers us again.

@gamblemaxxer The sad thing is even here the mere suggestion of sexual continence is met with angry coomers upset you reminded them they could easily improve their lives with just a little self control. At the end of the day all you can do is be a living testament to your beliefs. I find much encouragement in the Parable of the Sower
