            Molasses has traditionally been viewed as healthy, but Ray was against its use. He said it promotes inflammation and cancer.

                    I also recall him mentioning the burnt sugars in molasses but i don't recall the effects they have on us.

                      @BioEclectic probably the same effects as those from other burnt organic matter, like burnt meat. Carcinogenic.
