I like it for ease of use in certain recipes but not sure how peaty it is.
Something must be changed to keep it liquid.

    Thanks.

@happyhanneke If it is above 75 degrees Fahrenheit or so, it's normal for coconut oil to melt and become somewhat liquid. If it is liquid even well below 75 there's no way it's real coconut oil. It must be adulterated with some unsaturated fat

I know. It's hot in my house at the moment so that's why I realize how much I like it that way.
You can purchase it in liquid form in the store and it just says coconut oil which cannot be correct, something must be added.

Liquid coconut oil is created by a process of fractionation. Fractionation is a process of separating different components of coconut oil by their molecular weight. In this process, the solid components of coconut oil are separated from the liquid components, leaving behind only the liquid part of coconut oil. The result is a clear, colorless, and odorless oil that remains liquid even at cooler temperatures.

            What is Liquid Coconut Oil?

              Thank you.
Would it be still good to consume?

@happyhanneke a lot of people reported body odor from it, and stomach irritation

It is genuine, just put through the simplest process as outlined above. I've used it much and it's also how i introduced my extended family to coconut oil with nothing negative to report.

I do use the solid type much more lately due to local price changes.

Dr. Peat spoke about hydrogenated coconut oil. It is what he uses.

“…Can you explain the difference, writes Ben, between hydrogenated coconut oil, not oil, and extra virgin coconut oil? Yeah, extra virgin oil has all of the aroma and good flavor, but it also has 2 or 3% of PUFA left in it. And it has some proteins, which for some people are allergenic. The hydrogenated has been not only thoroughly deodorized so there's no taste, but it has been treated so there's no PUFA left. So it's extremely, coconut oil itself is very stable against oxidation, but the hydrogenated form is essentially resistant. You just don't have the breakdown.”

thanks. I bought a bottle which was of course in plastic. Oh well, it is what it is.

if you expect to keep it a while then you can move it to an airtight glass container. But if you use it at a normal pace then i wouldn't concern myself with it too much.
