Egg sizes: small or large?

Has Ray Peat ever spoken about this? Does the size of chicken eggs affect their nutritional value?
I find XL eggs abnormally large. I don’t think it’s natural for chickens to lay eggs that big, so I tend to choose smaller sizes. It’s definitely more painful for the chickens to lay eggs that big, that probably stresses them more, potentially affecting the egg’s nutrition.
What do you think? Do you prefer smaller chicken eggs when shopping, or does the size not matter to you?

I've been keeping chickens for several decades. I can say this when it come to natural way of egg laying. Some breeds just lay really big eggs. My copper marans and Rhode Island reds lay way larger eggs than my Easter Eggers and Welsumers. I have some bantams too which lay smaller eggs that I keep for my dogs to eat. ISA browns lay gigantic brown eggs by nature, but they were developed as a breed to lay larger eggs. It doesn't seem to bother them though, mine get really old too so they are healthy.I don't know if in the layer hen industry, they mess around with it but I wouldnt be surprised if they did. It's not a healthy industry no matter how you look at it. They feed higher priced egg laying chickens marigolds to have the yolks look darker orange because they know people like it and think it's healthier.

I used to favor jumbo eggs since double yolks were somewhat common and it was cost effective as a bonus.
Double yolks have become increasingly rare for me now so there goes that tactic.
