What orange juice are you guys drinking ?

It seems like my beloved clementine juice isn't coming back so I'm looking for alternatives .

I've tried Amecke süsse Säfte orange today which is quite ok, but still not as good as the clementine juice. But at least drinkable to get some polyphenols etc.

I've also tried Alnatura Bio Orangensaft, which was quite bad. Immediately felt it in the sinuses. Although they normally have some decent juices like their red grape juice or the apple juice ,which seems to be high in polyphenols.

      Dare to think.

            Trinkgut
            some Rewe
            some Edeka

you‘ll def find Van Nahmen Juiced Drinks in every Rewe and Edeka but I only found 1x rewe / 1 edeka who had also Bio OJ

Trinkgut has it def and many other Van Nahmen Fruit Juices

For me Van Nahmen is the number one for fruit juices. But its def expensive, but never found better quality in germany

@Mr-X ok thanks . I've never even heard of that brand. But I'll take a look.

Amecke citrus Mandarin /orange juice is good as well. It's 30% Mandarin juice and those are pretty close to clementines.

              Dare to think.

@Mr-X i have something to report about Amecke orange / mandarinensaft.
It seems to have a skin and hair softening effect on me. The closest thing I can describe it to is a mix of vitamin D and pregnenolone. In terms of skin and hair effects. It gives me that "glow" effect.

First I thought it was a coincidence but over the last 3-4 days I tried it out out more often. And especially today I became sure of it.
It doesn't last extremely long, maybe 4-6h but then again I don't drink large quantities of the juice, maybe 1 or 2 glasses a day.

I also suspect that it makes my muscles look fuller and gives me energy, but I'm less sure about that.
There seems to be a hormone like action going on. I know that the polyphenols in fruits have hormone like actions and/or increase steroidogenic enzymes. I made a big thread about that on the RPF about elderberries polyphenols.

I'm not sure which part of the juice it is. But i suspect it is the mandarin part, since I never got an effect like that from any OJ I drank.

                  Dare to think.

I found a new clementine juice. And it's pretty good.
                    It's this one here
                    https://www.fooodz.de/beutelsbacher-clementinensaft-700-ml

I found it in a local organic shop. But I have ordered a few more online. The price is quite steep. But I think it's the same online as in the store.

                    Dare to think.

Edeka and Netto both seem to have very delicious Bio orange juice from concentrate, and it's cheap (2,70 a litre) compared to alternatives. I was getting really nice Direktsaft from Flaschenpost (Burkhardt brand) but they raised the price to 3,33 euros a litre so I ditched them unfortunately. I was enjoying having it in glass but the juice from Edeka at the moment has been really sweet and delicious.

If anyone is interested in getting somewhat affordable oysters:
                          https://honest-catch.com/products/auster-in-halbschale

These look good for the price. I have gotten canned ones from iherb but they aren't shipping at the moment.

EDIT: By the way I had a really bad experience with Wolfra's Direktsaft. Tastes awful. Not sure if it was the batch I got but flaschenpost switched out my order at the last minute and gave me Wolfra instead of what I ordered because it wasn't in stock and I just couldn't drink it in the quantities I was used to. Sour and somewhat foul-tasting. Have been getting friends to slowly chip away at it for me 😄

Thanks for the oysters as well.

Someone here near Langen/Darmstadt/Frankfurt/etc.? I'm looking for good raw milk/Vorzugsmilch sources. Latter would be nice, but unfortunately, I know of no stores that sell it...

@YellowCanary In Darmstadt you can buy raw milk at Hofgut Oberfeld. I don't live close, but I've heard from others who bought there at the Hofladen.

@Mauritio the store brand Bio juice. https://verbund.edeka/presse/produktsteckbriefe/edeka-bio-orangensaft.html

The "BioBio" store brand juice at Netto seems to be the same, it tastes the same and it's owned by Edeka. Also same price I think.

@Melora Danke. Do you perhaps know how long they bought milk there/whether they still do/whether it was good?

Last time I bought fresh milk from a demeter farm, I sadly had a bad reaction (twice on two separate occasions from less than a cup). I got this weird lower GI tract burning sensation.

Does someone have any idea why that might be? I have lower GI tract issues. Tried to fix it for years now, and heard fresh milk works like magic for some. So I want to give it another go.

@YellowCanary Sorry, I don't know if they still buy there, it was a couple years ago and I'm no longer in touch. But they bought the milk very often and liked it a lot. Not sure if anything has changed.

Interesting about the reaction to Demeter milk. I wonder if it's something in the cow's feed, since they're fed with Grünfutter, which could contain all kinds of plants and grasses.

@Melora Feed was my first thought too, but it could've been bacteria as well, who knows. Interestingly, others who drank the milk were fine. (Idk, I theorize that certain bacteria cause problems in some while not in others depending on their biome).

This time I'm just gonna take a few tablespoons and build up. Hope to God it works, I have horrible GI tract and (rare) psoriatic issues. I'm pretty positive fixing the former betters the latter.

Well, that's that, don't want to derail. Thanks again. If someone else is familiar with other sources, feel free to share. 🙂

@YellowCanary have you had your vitamin D tested? I used to have psoriasis on my scalp which disappeared since getting my vitamin D up to around 60. It starts to get itchy and slightly inflamed again (but doesn't change colour) when I start to get low, like 20-30ng/mL. Look up Labor Stager (mein Direktlabor). There may be one near you. Otherwise cerascreen has been good but I'm suspicious of the accuracy of the tests.

For what it's worth I drank milk for the past two years daily but have found that, although I've tolerated it extremely well, I do better with just cheese, because the lactose seems to be fermented in some part of my intestine which is still prone to inflammation. So I would try to stick to the most well tolerated calcium sources if you have a sensitive intestine (which it sounds very much like you do). I initially was extremely lactose intolerant and was able to drink over a litre a day with virtually no issues, but as Danny Roddy has mentioned, UHT milk was always the easiest on my system. Vorzugsmilch, for example, would sometimes give me endotoxin-like symptoms like yogurt can for me, especially if I want feeling great.
