A sufficient dose of Magnesium will fix insomnia.
But you may have to push the dose very high. More than 1 gram of elemental Magnesium if the insomnia is bad.
I went through a very stressful period and it worked amazingly well.

Maybe this is just what the doctor ordered for me after undergoing a health crisis.
My mom woke from being continually sleepy like she is going into a coma. After being pigeon-fed a blend rich in magnesium and sugar, she woke up wide alert in a week.
So magnesium just does good both ways.

It's worth mentioning that 1 grams of elemental mag from mag glycinate means you're also getting about 6-7 grams of glycine which is a dose big enough to improve sleep. 300mg elemental mag from 2200mg dose from one label.
Seems like a good mag supplement. Glycine helped with sleep just a little but better than any other supp. Thanks for posting.

@Insomniac Yes good observation! Gelatin and glycine always improve my sleep, if i avoid overconsuming muscle meats and protein even more so.

A few months ago, taking 400mg of magnesium glycinate resolved my ruminations and anxiety when trying to fall asleep.

Mag-Glycinate definitely sounds like a two for one in regards to relaxation.
I've cycled through several forms of Mag over the years but the three that noticeably work for me the most are Sulfate, Hydroxide and Bicarbonate. But there's still a few more forms i haven't tried yet.
My ultimate relaxation stack is Mag, Glycine, Taurine, 100-200mg Niacinamide. If i'm already low on sleep i now take an extra aspirin to curtail potential brain inflammation.
Have read that Gaba slows the ruminations down, reducing worry or excess thought before sleep. Sodium Butyrate can help some insomniacs too apparently. And last but not least, insomnia may trace back to excess serotonin for some folks.

@BioEclectic Have you tried lysine or chamomile tea for sleep as well? For me some tea with warm milk and honey paired with a little magnesium and gelatin gives me the best sleep of my life

My sleep is mostly on point, but yes I'm very familiar with chamomile's affects. It's a long time favorite along with nettle. And a bit more recently i discovered cat's claw. I drink tea much less now however.Sometimes when I refer to "Glycine" here I'm indirectly referring to collagen, gelatin and bone broth since Glycine is the major amino acid in all three.
Agreed with honey, it became a regular staple after i discovered bioenergetics. Good for so many things. And honeycomb too!
I don't believe i've had Lysine by itself but i've read much about it and had considered it.

@BioEclectic Honeycomb is so good and contains even more beneficial compounds tham honey like DHEA for example.
