some thoughts:
Researching information about the biofield is a little like researching sugar or polyunsaturated fats without having first read Ray Peat's work for reference. If you start out reading about polyunsaturated fats at the American Heart Association you may well be wandering for years in the wilderness.
Because I am hypothyroid and also have experienced thiamine deficiency/functional blockage for many years (5 decades +), perhaps I am more attuned than some people to what low body energy feels like. Think about how body temperature can be used as a gauge to determine how well your own personal body energy system is doing.
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism by my OB-GYN when I was 25 (50 years ago) due to failure to heal of the cervix 2 years after childbirth. I've taken prescription thyroid medication for 50 years. I'm very good at feeling my body's energy level.
I've lived with mercury poisoning since I was a child (childhood mercury amalgam fillings, removed the dangerous way, when I was in my 20's). Mercury causes high oxidative stress which consumes thiamine which acts as an antioxidant (among other vital things). High oxidative stress results in thiamine deficiency. The thyroid requires thiamine to do its job; the thyroid is considered by some experts to be the "canary in the coal mine" when it comes to thiamine deficiency because it is so sensitive to a deficit of this vitamin (b1). I've been high dosing thiamine hcl, 1 gram twice a day for 4 years. It has given me my life back. I take additional supplements as well because increasing the body's oxidative metabolism will use up other vitamins/minerals faster.
The body makes energy (ATP) from "burning" nutrients in the mitochondria via oxidative metabolism. Oxidative metabolism requires both thiamine AND thyroid hormone; without these two things, cellular energy cannot happen. No cellular energy = no life force = death. Cellular energy equals to electrical current.

Another source for body energy is the human biofield. The biofield is the electrical current that surrounds the body and is affected by magnetism. The earth acts like a big magnet. The concept of grounding/"Earthing" comes to mind:
Integrative and lifestyle medicine strategies should include Earthing (grounding): Review of research evidence and clinical observationsI have recently been experimenting with getting in touch with my biofield. I've done one exercise session (video) with She Who Must Not Be Named. The video session lasted over an hour but I chose to stop at 30 minutes because I got tired; it was my first time at this new "exercise" after all and I'm almost 75. I did experience piloerection. I also was very aware that my body temperature had increased at least a degree and I was a little sweaty. I interpret increased body temperature as a positive thing. The "exercise" session entailed standing (barefoot) and visualizing the movement of energy while music played. Having an instructor who is well versed in the technique was helpful for me.
She Who Must Not Be Named promotes the idea that getting familiar with your own body's bioshield and "exercising" it will strengthen it and is protective as your biofield is then less vulnerable to the intrusion of EMF etc. I personally like this approach because it does not require ingesting questionable "supplements/chelators".

Of course I don't know that it is. But neither do you.
I do know there are journal sources about this subject by which one may infer appropriate exercise. However at some point one does defer their confidence to context.

What do you mean by that? I'm talking about biofield work to improve my body's energy level. What are you talking about?? You are warning me that it's dangerous to consider things that are not widely adopted in the "present"?? On a Ray Peat oriented forum?? Silly me; I thought this forum was for an exchange of ideas, experiences, and knowledge. It is called the "Bioenergetic Forum". If I have had positive results increasing my body's temperature by focusing on my biofield, I think that is a reasonable thing to report. Other people would find that of interest. What is your problem?

Have you never experienced emf sensitivity? I know I have. For many years. I was unable to go to a big city (by driving a car) without getting really stoopid. I would get lost. But there's a song about that, "Lost in Austin Again" so maybe I wasn't the only one. I'd get lost in San Antonio too but there's no song about that. However, there is the old saying that "San Antonio was laid out by a drunk Indian riding a blind mule." Anyway, my brain would simply short out and I'd get loopy. Once I got out of the city limits, my brain function would click back in. EMF sensitivity is a known thing; a lot of people are affected by it. This was WAY before 5G, in the early 1990's; there were very few towers back then.

@mostlylurking said in Restoration of the Biofield topic:

Restored sensitivity to everything was my initial state on incorporating bioenergetic ideas in to my behaviour. But I realised at some point, I could counter that sensitivity with sensitivity. It may relate to the topic of biofields. I don't actually know. We'd have to walk to find out.

I'm acting as neither and not acting at all. I'm modifying my manner of speech before I write but that's all.
Moderation is for extremes and bots. Conversation tends to avoid the need.

I need you to elaborate and explain what you mean by this paragraph. Sentence by sentence. I'd like to be able to respond better and I'm simply having a hard time following you.

We seem to trigger each other easily. I don't know if this is a language barrier thing? I speak Texan; you are British, right?
Since you liked the music link, here's another one. I live maybe 20 miles from this place. Here's one that shows terrain that looks exactly like where I live. This one always makes me happy!

Sleep on it. Preferably three or more times. Part of your issue on the topic is that you're in a rush. Probably because a video on the internet spooked you. A video made by self identifying spook community affiliate.

At no point have you "triggered" me. But said something I could respond to, on a topic that may or may not sit beneath the topic that may or may not sit beneath endocrinology. Namely fluid balance/dynamics.

you said:

Are you saying that when you incorporated "bioenergetic ideas" you became hypersensitive to everything? What do you mean by "bioenergetic ideas"? What do you mean by "restored sensitivity"?you said:

This is the nature of all conversation and literature. And more probably. We're reunderstanding things all the time. Which can be from a place of having not understood at all.

I simply cannot figure out what you are saying. I suspect it may be a linguistics thing. You are trying to focus on a "topic that may or may not sit beneath endocrinology"? Relating to "fluid balance/dynamics"? Is this a balance thing? Are you dizzy? There's something going with your health that you think is related to endocrinology?
I cannot respond unless I can understand what you are saying.

The biofield is legit. It is known by other names. It is not different from life force or chi. But the medical dogma is not compatible with it.
However, I don't think Dr. Robert Young can be a credible reference. He has made comments on Pat Timpone's show that strikes him as eccentric, saying things that even from a wholistic standpoint, goes on the deep end or to the left field.
He cites the horse as an example of why eating vegetables or plants as better for humans.
He says the ideal human urine pH is 8 and above.
He claims to have studied bioterrain theory under a late German bioterrain stalwart, but I can't even look up more detail on it.

Yes, on all points.

I think Dr. Robert Young is a few decibels higher than a lot of us and probably a few degrees off the mark on some things. But at least he's talking about it.

The term "biofield" seems to be the approved scientific technological term for it now. see here.
Biofield Science and Healing: An Emerging Frontier in Medicine
Biofield Science and Healing: An Emerging Frontier in Medicine (pdf download)
The point I'm trying to make here on the forum is that the biofield/aura/life force/chi is very real. It's a body part. But if people don't know they even have a "biofield" and that it can be "excercised" to be made stronger, it's a big problem because without this body part functioning, you are more vulnerable to emf and with it functioning your own body energy can be increased and can theoretically provide a protective buffer for modern emf pollution. EMF = radiation. I demonstrated the existence of my own biofield (to myself) by increasing my own body temperature when focusing on my biofield and doing some simple visualization exercises. It seemed to make a difference when I took my shoes off. This heated me up more than my 20 minute walk over steep hilly terrain.
I should add that I do take an optimized dose of prescription desiccated thyroid daily (10 years on this product) and I also take high dose thiamine hcl (for the past 4 years) and my diet is good and has been for over 10 years so my PUFA body load is low. I had already done these things to improve my oxidative metabolism (long term); I discerned surprising additional improvement in body temperature when I experimented with my body's energy field.
