Strangest Placebo Effect You've Encountered and How I Vomited for Eight Hours

Share your experiences of casting mind control on your own body.Once and only once in my school years I decided to play hooky and I was very determined to make it a success. I saw with my head in my hands in the morning and focused on appearing sick as much as I could and really tried to feel it. Eventually I faced my mother and requested to stay home, as I was feeling unwell, and to my surprise it was allowed. Not 30 minutes later I came down with horrible stomach pain ending in vomiting. I felt relief for about 45 minutes, then over the course of 15 minutes the pain crept back, ending in a vomit. This cycle repeated for the next 8 hours, almost perfectly on the hour. What is there to make of this? Did I really make this happen to myself? I have never had this sort of illness before or since. Could my body have known I was sick and put it into my subconscious? The idea to skip school only came that morning, I was a very very well behaved youngster and wouldn't normally be so daring.

@LinDaiyu Your thoughts control reality. You are your thoughts. Recently I have been doing a steroid cycle in my head, and getting jacked and strong asf. You need to really believe it though.

@LinDaiyu barely related to your story once when i was young i didn’t want to go to school so i took every soap in the shower and made a sludge out of it and ate some trying to get sick and vomit and it didn’t happen i didn’t even feel sick. Was probably 6-8?

@zeal Wow I just imagined taking a handful of aspirin and my nose started bleeding. I'm imagining taking some K2 now so it should be fine.
-
@LinDaiyu You could try imagining consuming K2 along with some vanilla ice cream. That way it will be a nice imaginary experience and you will get some calcium too

I just imagined crossing the street and getting hit by a ca—

Yes, happens to me often

@LinDaiyu Just this past weekend I had a very large workload and when I got home, my brother in law was in town visiting. He began feeling ill and so did I. Unsure if it was because of him or because of over exertion. Either way I always make it a point to stay in a clear mental state, and convincing my body that I am not sick. This doesn't necessarily mean disregarding it completely. I still take peaty precautions to prevent further worsening. I.E. mega Vit C, MB and aspirin. As well as getting proper rest and sleep to heal. But it was night and day us both being sick throughout Sunday into the evening. And then waking up Monday morning. I had been speaking wellness into myself and applying aforementioned peaty remedies and I felt near 100% that next morning besides a bit of lingering achiness. But was well enough to have two meetings that morning and then work my typical shift that afternoon. Whereas he was moping all day and practically bedridden. This could also be due to factors such as peating and eating good whole foods in general allowing my body to recoup faster. But I definitely have seen enough evidence from utilizing this trick many times in my life to see that it drastically improves my mental clarity and health state whilst sick and recovery is much much quicker.

@LinDaiyu more often than not, I’m able to stop myself getting sick. This sounds outrageous but my husband has seen me do it many times now. The moment you feel that you’re coming down with a flu or cold you tell yourself you are not sick, you are strong and well, then believe it.
