Bloodwork after stopping DHT
-
As some of you know from my posts, from around May to mid-August i was blasting DHT, via various routes of administration. The most i took was 200mg/day for a week sublingually, but throughout i was also using 50-100mg topically as well as 100mg orally (in milk). I went off DHT around end of August cold turkey and got bloodwork mid-October.
Total T: 596 ng/dL
DHT: 44 ng/dL
SHBG: 17.5 nmol/L
FSH: 6.27 mIU/mlUnfortunately the lab didn't test LH for some reason even though i requested it.
To be honest i expected DHT to be higher since it supposedly upregulates its own synthesis, but also because it really felt like the effects i got did not go away after stopping. It could be that DHT upregulates androgen receptor expression so that lower levels have the same effect. -
do you feel any different since stopping?
-
@yeyo12 Yes but not very different. It's as if the effects are semi-permanent because most of them are still there, like reduced estrogen, confidence, sociability.
Btw to clarify i just stopped to get a blood test, i didn't experience any negative side effects from it.

@pannacottas thank you.
what would be your ideal dosage? transdermal, with your solution. (just ordered)
what body part and how many times a day of application? thank you!
-
@yeyo12 I used to do mostly forearms, but now i do delts/upper arm. 1ml, half and half on each shoulder and it works well. Started again to do another blood test but on DHT this time.
-
@pannacottas Any body hair growth when doing topical on arms/shoulders? I don't want
-
@albion Not really, only some on the upper chest which i don't mind
-
@pannacottas Do you have any bloodwork from before you started DHT?
-
@Hollowed Yes i have some but from beginning of 2023 and i hadn't told my doctor any specific tests i wanted, so i did a generic hormone panel. The only relevant tests:
FSH: 6.27 mIU/mL
LH: 5.3 mIU/mL
Total T: 963.1 ng/dL
DHEA-S: 428.2 μg/dL -
Did you get any bloodwork while taking DHT? I'm curious about the effectiveness of each of the routes of administration but never got around to doing any tests myself.
-
@pannacottas permanent that sounds great but elaborate I do not understand how that would be possible.
-
How much were you taking trans dermally? Most people I talk to seem to be taking <5mg, would that be enough.
-
@Crypt-Keeper I was planning to but i've been too busy lately. I will get it done this month probably as i found a cheap lab
-
@gg12 Not completely permanent. I mean that some of the effects i got, especially the mental ones, persisted even after stopping for like 1-2 months. Which could suggest that DHT antagonizes the stress hormones and positively affects neurosteroid balance powerfully enough that it helps the body have greater general tolerance to stressors and shift it to a healthier metabolic state, sort of like an actoprotector.

@PrinceTrebata Transdermally 50mg most of the time because it is 1ml of my solution / a full dropper.
I get effects from less than that but sub 5mg might be too little for topical.
